This has been an incredibly enjoyable Atelier experience and has taught me that I far prefer Ateliers with no or minimum time pressure.

I have gotten several Atelier games in a recent sale, but of the ones I have played so far before now this is probably my favourite. The alchemy mechanics are pretty good but the recipe unlock method is a bit tiring, requiring you to first unlock the 'knowledge' of the recipe and THEN gather/kill the components to 'learn' it for synthesis. I think I'd rather go through the recipe tree naturally by collecting components and it just being able to be synthesised or even trial and error than have to do so much backtracking for components.

That aside, it's a very fun experience. The puzzles are fairly simple. The bosses are challenging enough. So it's not a baby mode game, but its not super frustrating either.

It's just like classic racers but better in most ways.

It's a fun pick up and play time-trialer with vintage style cars and a fairly tight arcade handling model.

And it's cheap.

But, the graphics while colourful and vibrant and well made - do not offer settings outside of resolution and the low framerate reflections are supremely disappointing in an otherwise excellent presentation.

This is another conditional recommend.

And the last time I'm willing to be burned by Monster, who've abandoned the platform and their other games to bring this series to console exclusivity for the last couple years.

This game includes pretty much all of the series of their previous games except the asphalt stuff from the SRX game and trucks. It is however, just another iterative physics update and a licensing/roster update on their existing game platform using the Nascar Heat engine. Including the quirks like rules entirely missing.

There is no choose rule, for example.

It's also horrendously priced and not marketed at all, which means I expect it won't sell well. This is a niche title and while it is feature and content rich, it's still a multiple-years old game base and engine with updated physics and is worth about forty dollars full price and should've been launched with a 10 or 15% discount.

I've purchased it solely because I want monster to continue to release its games on pc. They are good games. They fill a niche in a sport I enjoy immensely. But if monster abandons this platform again, I will be abandoning monster - and the pricing model for this title does not give me hope.

If you like dirt circle track racing, this is your game but it's a game from a developer who has consistently made new games instead of adding to their old ones and whom have deadass left the platform entirely in the past. Assess your purchase accordingly.

Honestly, for every fake friend who told me this game series/genre was stupid. The ones who told me it'd never come back or get remastered because nobody would want it. And tried to crush my dreams for over 18 years.

This ones for you.

Really fun co-op but quickly repetitive, especially once you get staff. Then it's really just a matter of price matching and making sure all your shelves are stocked before just running the day through, cleaning up messes and restocking if needed.

Maybe I'm just bad at videogames, but this game was way too hard for only two people to play.
