A cool experiment, but it doesn't really work. Stage 3 is full of enemies that outrun your sluggish weapons, bosses are damage sponges, and the movement lock on attacking is a terrible thing to put in a shmup.

Does basically everything wrong gameplay-wise, with overly-long stages, boring bosses, and piss-weak shot types that take forever to kill things.

Looks like Wario, plays like Sonic. And much like Sonic, the game's all about memorization. You move too fast to react to anything, so the gameplay boils down to memorizing the (very long) stages through trial-and-error. I'm surprised this game is as popular as it is, it's a VERY niche style of gameplay that only appeals to hardcore speedrunners. And yeah, you can go through the levels slower, but you're clearly not meant to. If you play slowly, the game is just... kinda boring. You don't have a double jump or airdash, or any other moves that would make for interesting level design.

So I can either be bored out of my mind, or throw away countless hours of my life for P-ranks. No thank you.

The sword gimmick is really dumb. I actually timed out the third boss because there's never a chance to actually damage it.

It's just way too fast. I have good reaction times and it's too fast even for me.
Also, 80% of the cards suck, so RNG will kill most of your runs.

It took me way too long to realize that I'm not the target audience for this game. FFXIV is a casual game, and I'm not a casual. The main "challenge" this game has is babysitting the rest of the party. This game is full of terrible players who refuse to learn, and I am done enabling their kind.

Most of the game is great, but the final boss killed my will to finish it. It's absolutely horrendous, one of the worst bosses in gaming history. I do still recommend this game to hardcore platforming enthusiasts, just... do yourself a favor and quit at the final boss. It's not worth it.

This game is overall great, although the quality is a bit uneven. It's also kinda slow to start, but the second half really shines. Be warned though, this game is MUCH harder than stuff like Hollow Knight. If you enjoy difficult platformers, definitely try this one.
