This remake of the original Dead Space is one of the best remakes yet in horror genre along with some Resident Evil games and does justice to the original. The game takes us on a journey of a man's descent into darkness straight from the start. From loosing comrades and then eventually family then when finally facing the ultimate horror there is no fear, just anger and the lines "This is all I got left" felt genuinely sad to hear. Overall the game is a roller coaster of emotions with a particular emphasis on how low humanity will sink given the opportunity. The jump scares were random so it was effective as well especially the ones that had no enemy tied to them be it the showers turning on when entering a bathroom for scavenging or trams suddenly stopping with horrific scratching rides on the outside which made me take off my headphone when in transit via the trams. Although I did'nt get a chance to play the original (just watch), this experience felt more than enough to make up for my loss and is an absolute must play for horror enthusiasts.
