Fun fact #1
If they made MyCareer (a single player f'in experience) available offline only (no multiplayer required) you would still be able to play this game without having to rely on 2k's server. Just a way for 2k to push you into buying next year's game, which barely has any changes.

Fun fact #2
This game isn't next-gen, and they don't plan on supporting it (even if they say they're "thinking" about it) because it'll cost them more to port that version of the game :D

This review, is in fact a copy paste from the past Nba 2k games.
Since they shut off the servers, the game is now pretty much worthless :D

Only purchase Nba 2k games for less than $10, if you want to scratch that "Nba sim" itch.

Initial thoughts

I've purchased this game when it first came out. The game for me was a new experience especially since there's an "open world" mode, and an "expedition" mode. The game is very fun to play with friends, although it isn't a requirement to have an enjoyable experience. I usually play solo, its challenging, although not impossible. You might want to read the cons first.

[Pros]
- IMPORTANT Note - The devs update the game frequently, which is a very big +++
- Graphics: very good
- Being able to create one character, and use it on multiple "saves/missions" is amazing, you *don't have to re-keep grinding*. (this one is kind of tricky as time of writing this review, read cons)
- There's plenty of stuff to do and to explore, the games never shy on giving out a few hurdles here and there.
- Challenging, but not too CRAZY (although if you want more or less of a challenge, you have the options before you start a new game)

[Cons]
+Gathered/Proof from users on r/SurviveIcarus, the games official reddit page.

| Most recent patch issues |
- Issue 1: IF YOU'RE PLAYING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW, DON'T DO ANY MISSIONS, THERE'S A DECENT CHANCE THAT IF YOU COMPLETE IT, YOU WILL NOT GET ANY REWARDS or YOU WONT EVEN ACTUALLY COMPLETE THE MISSION (hence, you wont unlock further missions).

- Issue 2: F'ed up saves again, game saves for some reason are becoming way to big and crashes the game (LowLevelFatalError).

| Old patch |
Issue 3 - There was a patch that destroyed everyone's saved character (and it seems like a recurring issue from time to time). So if you grinded a few months ago, GG, restart timeeeee.

This is an honest review. Hopefully it can help someone out there who's planning to buy the game.

(Please check the updated review at the bottom of this review)

=============/ INITIAL THOUGHTS \=============
The $10 markup from the past year (Totalling to $100 CAD after tax), is not worth it especially with its current state. Trust me when I say this. The game we got in beta was more flawless than this (Though what do you expect, it was only 2 or so maps and it was only multiplayer).

I'm also not trying to "Hate" on this game or CoD in general, I bought all of the CoD games for PC in the past years. But, I feel like this one really needed a review to be put out because of all the Hype it got.

=============/ GENERAL \=============
1. Good ol' MW voice chat nostalgia is back.
2. Graphics - *chefs kiss*
3. Campaign story - *chefs kiss*
4. Sound design - *chefs kiss*
5. Most multiplayer guns actually feel like guns and not pea shooters; though as previously stated the TTK (time to kill) on some guns are cracked.

-----------------
TL;DR

Multiplayer isn't ready for release, lots of bugs. Campaign is amusing. Co-Op is interesting to play with your friends.

Should you buy this game? For $100 (CAD) nah, wait for a discount or something. By the time that discount happens, the game will probably be fixed or at least be less buggy.

=============/ Updated Review \=============

Update: 10/31/22
= Game is still broken. Further playing the campaign, I found more bugs. I'm now stuck on a bugged out mission where every time I load said mission, my game crashes. So now I can't even play the campaign :)

Update: 11/04/22
= Some bugs were fixed, although the game still constantly freezes and crashes :)

Update: 11/15/2022
= Most issues have been fixed. It only took them 3 weeks to fix them.
Should've just delayed it for said 3 weeks and released a polished game.

Should I change my review?
Currently, not yet. But they're very close. There's still a little bit more issues that need to get fixed.

Hands down the best crypto miner ever.

Using GMiner, this game cut down my 3090's Mining performance from ~119.4 MH/s (Game not opened) to about 60.79 MH/s.

Settings:
- 1920x1080 || Non Full Screen || Medium Quality
- V-Sync: Off || Anti-Aliasing: On || Shadow: Low || FPS Limit: 60

Nicehash/HiveOs/etc. etc. can't compare.

TL;DR - I'm a Day 1 Destiny 2 player, and I spent about $250+ for ALL of the DLC's and some Season Pass. Now you can get Destiny 2 Legendary edition for ~$60, which includes All of the DLC's out right now (yes even Beyond Light) if you just use google, which makes the game worth it in my opinion, and at the price of $60 I highly recommend it.

My recommendation for the Game is 60% No 40% Yes. I'm more leaning towards No just for the pure fact that Day 1-Year 1 players got finessed for having mediocre content, and the fact that now for $55 you can get all of the DLC's says something.

I will break down how D2 finessed me, and how I finessed myself (for continuously buying their DLC's, hoping that the DLC's that come out would bring back the Destiny I once loved and had 10,000+ hours on).

Part 1: Destiny 2 Launch, Deluxe Edition (I paid $120+, 2 DLC's)
What it should've been worth:
$40 Base game
FREE for Curse of Osiris DLC (that mf' was terrible).
$25 for Warmind DLC (it actually added a bit of content to the game).

Part 2: Forsaken DLC (I paid $40)
What it should’ve been worth:
$40 for Forsaken DLC - This was actually worth it, and was fairly fun, there was a lot of activities that got added.

Part 3: Shadowkeep DLC (I paid $35?)
$25 for Shadowkeep DLC - Ngl I don't even remember this damn DLC, all I remember was going to the moon or something and my money disappearing to thin air.

Part 4: Beyond Light DLC (I paid $55)
? for Beyond Light DLC - My dumb a.. never learned, to be fair I only paid $55 for Beyond Light Deluxe Edition instead of $85, so I guess for $55... its worth it for how supposedly bad it is? We’ll see.

Early Access Review
For a few hours I farmed a full inventory Rasta Banana's (each going for $500).

One could say, I made BANK.

Then greed got to me, I went on my final sell (had around $100k+).

A bunch of thugs waiting outside jumped me as soon as I got out of the store, the game ended.

Like another game that I've played, I simply just sighed, closed the game, and never opened it ever since.
