Br br brr brbrr. Brrrrrr. 🐴

Having a good time with it so far. Sometimes it feels like I've been screwed and it sucks a bit of the fun out of it a little. It feels like there are times where I'm walking into a game that's impossible to win.

It's one hell of a hollow game, but I can't say I haven't enjoyed my time with it.

A summary of Death Stranding. Spoilers ahead.

A man accompanies an unborn fetus along treacherous journeys both on-foot and aboard vehicles as he attempts to deliver important packages to the fragmented settlements of the United States of America, after a disaster hit that made rainwater age anything it touches. In this thrilling adventure, the man must use his delivery skills to impress the leaders of the settlements, and convince them to connect to the big network, allowing the man to see random ladders, climbing ropes, and abandoned vehicles more frequently.

The man then goes back in time to each of the big World Wars and shoots at Mads Mikkelsen for a little while.

This eventually all boils down to a confrontation with another man and his ability to control a bunch of sludge monsters from the ground, inevitably leading to the delivery man having to fight these monsters with his own blood and urine.

After many conflicts, including cutting many umbilical cords with handcuffs, the man confronts the other man in hand to hand combat, after successfully using a Playstation System® as a throwable weapon.

The man then cooks the unborn fetus.

One of the best games of all time. I'd recommend playing the DX11 version for an unforgettable experience.

However, for those of us coming back to try out the new update, the the DX12 version is unstable, and I can only get about 10 mins of game-play in before crashing, essentially rendering the update unplayable regardless of how nice the new features look.

❌ Spend an hour grinding missions only to get blown up by some flying bike
✅ Screw around and try to get a mugger to steal and attempt to fly a Jet

Memories.

This game needs more content and quality of life upgrades otherwise it will die faster than my level 4 teammate on Heresy difficulty.

The sort of game that requires a bit of commitment but absolutely worth playing. There's a lot of depth to be found here and you won't regret sinking the time exploring. Had a few frustrations with the controls from time to time but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Overall, I'd give it 9.5 Horses out of 10.

All in all it's a playable racing game if you are able to get it working. But let's take a look at the issues I noticed...

- Game won't recognise controller unless you plug it in after the game has launched
- Game freezes for a few seconds every time I ask Jeff to Box this lap
- The AI keep randomly getting punctures then start driving around as if they were controlled by a 3 year old, which means they will likely crash into everyone
- Jeff keeps trying to make me do stupid strategies like a 4 stop with the last stop being 2 laps before the end
- Jeff put me on dry tires when intermediates were clearly faster
- The AI really aren't good at predicting the right time to come in when it starts raining, eg. they will box for new slicks instead, then come in a lap later and box for inters
- The podium animation is the same every time
- Game sometimes randomly tabs out and forces me to use the flashback feature

I got it with the Humble Bundle, so for like £2 I got my money's worth.
