It could have been great.

It's an okay spooky game, I'd hope to see a little more expansion on mechanics setup early that kinda fizzle out for a disappointing ending. Every portion of the game feels like it was setup to be something much more but just gets cut off for the rushed (and very bland) ending.

Things that would make this worth buying:
More time spent outside building tension
More (any?) spooky radio moments
More encounters with the whistling man
More encounters with hikers (or at least a resolution to the one you help?)
And at least even one binocular spook relating to the other watchtower
More nights where tension building moments happen (and not just an insta kill if you open the door) i.e. Darkwood's evenings (Which at the time of this review is ~$4, $2 less overall for a game that has much more effort put into it)

Not sure why there was a 15 minute segment where you get a burger, or why driving mechanics were put in the game at all when neither of them amount to anything related to tension building or scares.

Also is the bear spray even useful?
Why have items in the downstairs shed if you literally never need them?
Whats the point of updating our computer and the power going out just to meet us with a "Sometime later" screen
Why does my character have to piss so bad?

This honestly feels like a bare-bones freeware game or a demo for a longer (even just by an hour or two) more expansive experience. Even at 6$ I think you'd be pushing it, at least when compared to free demos of games like Voices Of The Void that have at minimum twice the amount of content this game offers.

Too many missed opportunities and half baked concepts that culminate in a 30 second chase at the end of the game and a credits screen.

Where Lies of P took inspiration from Bloodborne, Lords of the Fallen takes inspiration from Dark Souls (3 specifically). Feels more like Dark Souls 3 than Elden Ring which is probably why there's so many reviews complaining about animation length because they cannot into learning how to fight without being able to animation cancel half their move-set.

Co-op is bad right now and I hope its fixed soon, Remnant 2 quality co-op would make this game a solid Souls-like.

Level design is fun, enemy design is cool, story is what you expect from a souls-like so far, and armor and weapons are varied and interesting.

I'm running a 3080 and an i9-10850k, game is very processor intensive so the reviews saying their i5 has lag can be discarded. Taking advice from another review "Change both Reflection & Global Illumination quality to Medium." runs me at a solid 100+ FPS even during co-op. Tired of seeing people neg review games because their old hardware or jank AMD cards dont function for every game that releases and demand the game be optimized for 8 year old hardware.

Its good 7/10 so far 8/10 if co-op is fixed.

Imagine having to wait for a private lobby because too many people are playing

Honestly one of the worst communities you can find, I'd rather play MW2 COD lobbies all day than one match of DBD.

If you're looking to get into this game, don't. The only people who still play it are 800 hour plus freaks who know how to tech you for 30 minutes or intentionally troll and throw games and Twitch streamers clinging to the possibility they might be more than a 2 viewer Andy if they finally get that Legion 4 kill.

New killer? Look forward to meta perk sweats looping you for 20 minutes then spamming flashlights when they finally drop the pallet.

New survivor? Look forward to a 50/50 another survivor on your team either rage quits after their first hook or helps the killer find where the rest of your team is.

People will reply with "git good" or "learn to play" but why would anybody want to learn to play this game when post lobby chat will be full of people telling them to off themselves or mocking them for being a new killer?

I wont even mention how every time there's a new killer its a coin flip on if they break the game or are completely useless.

tl;dr It probably used to be good, but those days are long gone, you're better off playing literally anything else.
