This is based off pre-season, I'll add more when I play through season 2.

Short vers: Gun SFX are amazing, fun characters, funny builds, big blimps and peaches. Overall very fun for what it is.

Long vers: WIP

Good game, just needs some patches for optimization and it should be ok.
5120x1440, R9 5900x/3080 with RT on and everything else on high getting above 60 is a struggle (obviously) and at times downright impossible in towns.

Specifically in the prologue and the first 3 towns the FPS is all over the place, after that it stabilized with a few tweaks.

God I love getting zapped by a F18 Fighter Jet honing from off-screen.

Risk of Pain Returns compared to the original brings in some nice quality of life that gives it a familiar but refreshing experience.

Tiger is stress inducing.

This game suffers from PC Optimization, as you probably seen in other reviews. That, and at the time of posting there hasn't been news or even hint of an update since July 13th (Tsukuyomi). I think this game is still worth it, it holds a special place on my list of games I would play over and over again however, in its current state I'd recommend finding a discount or waiting for sale. if you're going to play on PC preferably play on your Xbox or PS5, if you don't have those then Hope you're rocking a good setup cause you'll need it.

Aside from what was said, It's really fun and worth trying.

All my homies hate 100 cap, 110 is where it's at.

Serious review:

The new player experience outside of leveling events is absolutely atrocious, It's:
> By default, you will have no "leveling assistance" bonuses like increased movement speeds, or higher damage without some form of payment.
> Unfortunately one of the cases where it's becomes significantly easier and better if someone is helping you through it.
> There's next to zero possibility someone on their own will make it past the first time they run out of fatigue (stamina to level).
> Once you get to the level cap (110), It's a bit slow, drops aren't guaranteed so you're probably stuck farming lower difficulties.
> The game is one where if you make alts you notice a significant increase in important resources/materials for upgrades and moving up content.

Although I listed all of those negatives, personally I love the build variety, the momentum & feel of the classes, and cosmetics. This alone is enough to give me the drive to continue playing, also steam launcher is awful, please use the website's launcher and save yourself the headaches steam launcher comes with, you're doing yourself a favor.

I give the game an overall 6.5/10.

I STILL suck at this game but it's enjoyable.

Takes a bit to understand the fluidity of combat as it'll come off as clunky at first, once it settles in you'll be in for a good time.

There's a few downsides to this kind of combat and it's because it's a BR and has combat mechanics resembling that akin to a fighting game, the netcode is infuriating and may leave you in distraught. Ping plays a huge part in this game and if yours is over a certain threshold (100+) it becomes more of prediction than it is reaction since your actions won't correlate 1:1 with what affects the other players.

It's a very difficult game, nothing wrong with that; Say you're not a fan of studying mechanics, then its likely preferable to enjoy it for what it is. Play when you're in the mood for the gameplay provided and don't dig too deep.

If you decide to invest, there's a lot of guides online that can teach you how to do the stuff you see high-end players performing. As I mentioned earlier this game is ping based, its also FPS based as some things are simply impossible at lower FPS (~200).

Overall rating I held on release was 8/10; Today I feel 5/10 simply because netcode.
I'll come back to this after I find the time to grind to Asura.

I like what the game has done for the genre however, for me the melee skills especially are just lackluster imo, I don't like any of them. I hope you whoever is reading this enjoys it despite that.
