If you are a JA2 original fan, than this is the one my friend! Trust me!

This is what I waited for since Jagged Alliance 2 Wildfire. You just feel that the developers understood and even loved JA2. They transfered JA2 into today with all of those lovely quality of life improvements you want to have today, modern graphics and this good feeling JA2 gave, when you care for your mercs. I even chose the same characters I loved in JA2, because they have similar stats and attitudes. And it has the same dark humor from the originals. Whats not too love?

Sure it has its flaws. Ammunition management is a ♥♥♥♥♥ in JA3. Sometimes the characters run into spotted mines. But there is really nothing severe to complain about. Something like that got really rare these days.

I finished JA3 on normal in round about 76h, but missed a few quests. It has a bunch of replay value I feel, because of the many ways you can handle things to beat the game and of course the bunch of characters to choose from, which all feel different too. But I will shelf it for a bit and come back to it later.

Maybe next time I can save all of the derpy MERC idiots :-/

Hands down one of the best story-driven games out there I have ever played in over 30 years of gaming. Yes, I am getting old, people :-/

Sure, you can argue that the gameplay is a bit repetitve, quicktime events are a cheap game mechanic and the graphics belong into a museum for 2010s game engines, but... THE STORY, DUDE! No spoilers here, but it is thrilling, characters are kinda likeable and believable, they have their humanly faults. It's a dirty, depressing, immersive world and damn... THE RAIN, so much RAIN (Heavy RAIN). It's a world to get lost in. Well... if you can manage that in not really well aged GFXs ^^

One big minus for me were the controls. I have a XBox One controller. It needed a little fix in the steam controller settings, before it worked accurate. What stayed tho were very shaky, very hectic, spinning overlays, which tell you what buttons to press and how. I get it: in some situations the player should feel stressed and pressured. All good! But sometimes these quicktime events were too sensitive. I lost some of them here and there and since failure will be punished by this masterpiece of a game, it can be frustrating. I even killed one character off, just because of bad controls. Because yes, dear fellow players... you CAN perma die in this! ;)

But Heavy Rains flaws almost doesn't matter: the game comes out beeing awesome anyhow. Only a few movies reach this quality of a story. But this is a story you can even influence.

I definitely will check out more from Quantic Dreams. Next will be Beyong Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human. Than with better graphics and maybe even improvements to the controls?

Btw, I really took my time in this. I had 10h of fun, because I looked in every corner, maybe took a dump when the game was still on (you know how it is). But you will get at least 6-7h out of this until you beat it.

Early Access Review
So when I played this masterpiece in the making, there already were 100h of fun in it. There are 3 huge areas right now, which you can complete in this time, if you take your time. It is amazing how Shiro Games managed to have so few bugs in this, but yet so many gameplay loops that still hook me. Even if its just doing bounties for the 100 time. But yeah, there are some problems I have atm:

1. Nice would be an option to sent quest characters home or let them wait at one place? The tavern for example. So for example: I still have a pharmacist with me. He is part of a larger quest. Because I spent all keys (there are 2 types of limited keys atm) on other places, he sticks now with me, until I find another key, which unlocks the cellar, he wants to get in. Only than I can complete the quest and he leaves. Now I have this food consuming a-hole with me, who doesnt do almost anything for the party and I can't get rid of him. ARGH!

2. Also: I would love to set camp in empty or empied points of interest. A bandid-outpost for example, which lowers the danger percentage to 5 instead of 10 (lowest value) when you camp there.

3. Finally I would love to see a sympathy rating for captured people, which raises over time when you treat them well. When you feed them and cloth them. Maybe it raises when you gift them valuable items, like these tapestries or gems you only can sell for a few coins atm. Maybe make only a few characters unbribeable and who stay loyal to their faction. Right now, you have the option to set people free with an aleged slight possibilty prisoners will join you. Well... I tried it 1 million times (maybe exaggerated) and it never happened.

Well its Early Access, so its all good. I am looking forward to more content in this little gem of an old-school RPG.

I bought this game for 5 bugs and for the first time.... I felt kinda bad that I did make a great bargain. I easily would have paid the full price for it. Why? Because this game is pure art and its devs deserve every penny.

There is so much love for detail, the physics based gameplay is full of fresh ideas, graphics and music have a calming effect on you and I really enjoyed every puzzle in it. It never gets boring or frustrating, safepoints are set fair and even challenging jump and run parts, where quickness and reaction timing is key, isn't that big of a deal when you tried a few times. Even people like my girlfriend, who isn't a gamer, never used a controller and hasn't much experience with (jump&run) games, had fun and learned it pretty fast. The coop part of this masterpiece is what this game does best. You really have to rely on each other. This is coop as it should be. I only played it coop, never played the first single player game ("Unravel"), but it didn't matter.

If you are looking for a beautiful uncomplicated couch coop experience and you want to get your girl-/boyfriend into gaming, this is the game you are looking for!

Early Access Review
I really loved the idea of this and gave it a hard try to like it, but instead it's a perfect example how Early Access should not be. The devs abandoned TrueScale and left a half finished product with many flaws. Shame on them! The last update was years ago and 20 bugs for this is really bold. They advertise it as if it's fully usable, but it's really not. I can't understand why Steam gives it a plattform still. Here is what I am whining about:

1. You can't leave the tutorial and this is a well known problem. After you finished the tutorial, the "end the tutorial by pressing both triggers" message stays literally in your face and blocks a good piece of your sight. When you restart the game, you have to do the tutorial all over again. Is there a workaround? Nope! Devs taking care of that or even respond to their customers? Nope!

2. The virtual furniture has no measurements, so you really have to guess what size they have. If you plan to use this software to get a perception in VR how it could look in real life - not really doable.

3. You can't choose the wall thickness, you can't set the door or window width and there is only one digit after the comma for the measures. So don't expect to use a groundplan of a real house or apartment and have exact results in TrueScale. You wish!

4. The controls are very shakey, you really can't be exact with anything. It's a real challenge and pain in the behind to place walls sometimes. Also you can't turn around with the controllers. Wtf? This is basic stuff.

5. Every time you save your project, the game creates a new save file. Since the game is so clunky, of course you save the project after almost every move you do. So after a short period time you have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of save files.

If I am wrong on any of my arguments, please correct me. I will correct my review then. But at this time, I can't recommend TrueScale. But who knows? Maybe one day the devs wake up from their sleep and realize that it's not right to screw over their customers.

Early Access Review
Don't get me wrong, I really do like this game, BUT! There is still a long way too go for Phasmophobia. We all know it's far from finished (Early Access) and everyone buying it has to take that into account. Especially in VR - and I played both Versions - interacting with your enviroment becomes a challange you don't want to have in a creepy ass house, where a ghost wants to murder you. You sure as hell don't want the character animations look goofy and awkward. But you don't want to glitch through walls that kill your immersion either. The atmosphere, which you can share with friends in coop, is what the game makes so special. It's really fun to share experiences after ghost hunts. But I dare you to try this game solo in VR! But even if you team up, your body literally fights against you when you have to go into a ghost house alone, while your team stays in the truck. Imagine this: You are alone in there and suddenly the lights go out. Everything is dark now and the only thing you hear is footsteps getting louder. In panic you try to find the exit, but suddenly you hear the front door closing. It's locked now and you are trapped in the pitch black dark. Your flashlight seems to be broken. It's quiet. Terrified you tell your friend on the radio you will die soon. But you can't finish your sentence, because the ghost moans into your ears and takes your life. In at least one moment before this digital death, you wanted to throw your VR-Headset - worth hundrets of Dollars - against the wall. This game does so much well in that department, I mean that "scaring your soul out of your body"-department. But it needs also alot more work from that sexy talented person(s), who are developing it. At the same time it needs more content on a regular basis to stay exciting. Because we all know the attention span of todays gamer... -.- Please don't die on us, Phasmophobia! You have so much potential!

Quality over quantity! Boneworks is a short, but fun, creative and well done VR-Experience where you can get lost only by playing with your surroundings and the physics. The story is clearly "meh". It's okay, but don't expect an epic narrative. My first playthrough was some month ago, I got 30h out of it, but really took my time exploring. If you only play it too beat it, you will complete it in a few hours. The developers are adding still stuff to the game tho.

Short: Boneworks is one of the best VR-Titles out there and belongs in every good VR-library.

This game is awesome... with the right crew that is. If you have friends who play this, this is a no brainer: Buy it! Since I have no friends playing this, I really need luck a) too find a random crew, since only a few people seem to play this and b) find a random crew which is not a pain in the behind. Only with good teamwork this game reaches his potential.
