Troika has build a very unique, compelling & story-rich world, a fantasy land called "Arcanum" in which magic & technology barely coexist together, this world which is obviously highly inspired by 19th century England during the Industrial revolution, is filled to the brim with interesting lore, dialogue, characters & locations to explore.

It has very high replay value due to the nearly innumerable ways to customize ones character & build. I personally don't mind the combat mechanics either, my recommendation is to keep it on real-time & only change to turn-based if the enemies are either too hard or too plenty (or both).
The voice acting is also excellent & the soundtrack is absolutely magnificent.

I would consider "Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura" to be one the best RPG's of all time, "Top 5" for sure.
