I can't in good faith recommend this game anymore, it has simply become too frustrating to play. 8.0 came out 6ish years ago and there is still not even the most barebones official tutorial for new players. Years of trying to teach new players the mechanics of the game and try to get them to listen to orders only to be hit with a "STFU" 75% of the time has led to increasingly more and more frustrating matches where you're getting steam rolled and you cant even fight back because youre trying to get your squad coordinated enough just to put down a spawn. Community makes recommendations on how to fix issues but Devs just do whatever they want which often leads to having to rely on new players actually listening or knowing mechanics in order to win which rarely happens. New players have become increasingly more toxic and unreliable as well, playing the game however they want, leading to older players getting angry and becoming more toxic and rage quitting more frequently. All of this on top of a god awful old ass VOIP system so communication is already difficult. You can often tell whos going to win a match in the first 15 minutes of the game leading to another 30 - 50 minutes of a slow painful slog where one side is completely demoralized and running Surrender votes the whole time. Devs are not interested in fixing QOL issues, only adding more and more content in the hopes of attracting more new players.

If you want a teamwork based realism/milsim shooter theres a million other options out there for you right now. If all you wanna do is run around and shoot people but with realism elements this is a good game for you. Its $2.50 on sale anyway so give it a shot.

I had a lot of fun with this when It first came out for free. I decided to load it up after the newest update but I cant even get down into the Old World because of hackers, people constantly disconnecting, and little kids yelling into the microphone, people with no mics, and people messing around on the surface forever. If your playing with friends Im sure its still a fun experience, but trying to play with randoms seems impossible. Theres no game browser, just a button "Join Random" and it selects a player as the host, If the host disconnects the game ends. People organize games thru the official discord but thats extra work that shouldnt be necessary. Ill give it a thumbs up when they add a game browser that gives the host the option to kick people if they dont have a mic or are a squeeker.
