There's nothing more liberating taking down corporations and dropping a 500kg.

You know what my first review was not good enough to really detail what I think of this game, so let me get it out there. Also I'm updating the review so that I can get the steam awards stuff.

Tl,dr;
This game is fun. You should get this game. It's fun, satisfying, and just charming in every aspect of the word. I want more. (This is basically every review out there reworded like you do with a High School history essay.)

For Funny Points and so when you actually do play the game you can laugh at this:

I once had a friend. This mafia guy warned me about her, but I thought she was chill. Then time broke. The end.

Actual review:

I would buy this game 3 times over if I could, no scratch that 4.

Basic Summary:
You play as the adorable Hat Girl (yes that is her name, there's really nothing else to it) going around Super Mario Sunshine/64 style collecting the main collectable of the game, Time Pieces. If you're even considering buying this game you should've known that by now. If you even have seen one review you would know that this game is by far one of the most cutesy/charming 3D platforms out there, and you can tell Gears for Breakfast put so much damn love into this game it almost is like it was their own child. Now onto a basic Pro's and Con's List.

Pro:
- Art Style (and yes that is my own objective opinion)
- Hat Girl is the most satisfying thing to control ever, it's like a combination of the best parts of 3D Sonic (being the homing attack she has), and the movement control of 64/Sunshine Mario. The moveset is also very forgiving and quick to pick up; you can probably learn the entire control scheme on a controler within minutes of playing the game.
- She might even be more satsifying to control than Mario in Super Mario Oddesy (which is a
really bold statement but her moveset is simpler so it could just be the symplicity over the
variety and motion based commands of Mario)
- Level Design is fun, and is very clear and consise when it wants to be, or open and free when it lets you. The levels also don't feel copy-pasted, and each protrays it's theme very well so I never get bored going to different areas.
- Grant Kirkhope and Plasma3Music are wonderful composers and really have brought a lot of life into this world through the sounds, I cannot tell you how much I've just listened to the soundtrack in a level over and over again.
- Tons of little dialoge and actions that really just bring life to the world. It's so refreshing to find little tiny details everywhere.
- Speedrunning stuff is accsessable and really satisfying due to the simple control scheme that can be used to do more complex manuvers.
- Active modding community makes it so that the game, even when you beat it 100%, will never become dull.
- Did I mention cute characters? I think I did. They're cute, and have good interactions.

Neutral Points:
- Voice Acting is kinda a mixed bag, you go from annoying girl to really funny and enthusastic soul stealing ghost. But if you don't want Voice Acting you could always buy the plug your ear's badge or just turn off the volume for character voices.

Negative (more like nitpicking) Points:
- Some animations aren't really that polished as they could be (i.e. theres one scene when Hat Girl closes her eyes and you can still see her eyes in the eyelid).
- Hats overall feel somewhat gimicky (besides the speed hat, which actually is quite nice) and somewhat hinder fluidity from time to time. Other times it's perfectly fine though because they serve the purpose of blocking off a section until you have propper equipment. The time slow hat is actually suprisingly useful in boss fights if you're trying not to get hit, and can help timed sections along with being able to take certain things with a bit more leisure.
- I want more of this game, that's the real nitpick here, I JUST WANT MORE OF THIS STELLAR GAME.

In conclusion, A Hat in Time is a stellar product that is fun, charming, and just overwelmingly a great game. Gears for Breakfast obviously put love and care into this game and I hope they recieve the goal they wanted when they released this game. Also hopefully they have enough funding to make more games like this or free content updates or DLC for it or SOMETHING.

Also if someone at Gears for Breakfast is out there can you just tell us if you plan to bring this wonderful game to the Nintendo Switch? It just seems like such a perfect platform to do this cause playing this game on the go would be great.

CrossCode is a beautiful game that I noticed when it was about 70% through development thanks to a friend. I played the game and found it to be exciting and fun. I got to the furthest point the story could take me, and then sat and waited till the full game came out, ignoring all of the update notices and streams and so much more. (This developer team is amazing active and dedicated.) I still haven't beat the story yet, so instead I'm going to comment everything else and update my review later. I find this to be a shinning gem within the sea of games, and only wish others came to apprieciate it.

I reccommend this game wheter it be on sale or not, it would be worth your purchace in any way.

What I absolutely love:
  • Characters are an amazing thing, and CrossCode nails the idea of just random character interactions, and makes them feel like living people who are actually playing the game with the Protagonist Lea. I love the trinity of friends and their interactions. I honestly try to figure out each characters response to certain events, and love what I find.
-Emilie: She's passionate, and very pleasant to have around. I love the little dialoge about the random things you fight, or how she absolutely hates all bugs . She's overall just a fun member of the part.
-C'tron: The overwelmingly nerdy guy who is still fun, and interesting to hear random facts (or complaints) about your enemy. He's a great mediator and interesting character.
-Lea: The smug, enjoyable "silent" protagonist with obscured origins. She's the interesting one and rediculously relatable for someone who doesn't speak.
  • Combat is fun, fluent, quick thinking, and not entirely based around stats. The bosses can be difficult for some and others you could steam roll it, just depending on how adept you are. The upgrade system greatly leans into also, providing quick time strategy and lots of personalization to the style of play. Enemies are also varied enough with attack patterns, design, and everything else that it becomes increasingly apperent that even while I was grinding for certain items I needed to make the better piece of equipment, I had fun going on S classed rampages that my party thought was insane.
  • Puzzles and dungeons are beautifully designed, and very thought provoking. There's so much to do with them they explore mechanics, as well as introduce new ones, in a natural yet strong form. The puzzles and dungeons also extend to the rest of the world, and every area feels like an amazing traversal experience.
  • Visually, this game is an absolutely masterclass of pixel animation and art, and is very pleasing.
The one thing I'm neutral on
  • The parkour system has it's highs and lows, it definetly adds something to traveling the world and makes everywhere an interesting puzzle to get to the higher area next to you, but sometimes the parkour system gets a bit hard to navigate with because it's hard to distingish height within the visuals, or the mechanics of the parkour can be difficult to control (which could evidently just be me). However, I do overall think the parkour system is fun when you really can get going, and adds a new layer of depth to the world overall.

Well playing it one time through realizing I probably got the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending possible because NOTHING WENT RIGHT, AND NOTHING EVEN IN THE LITTLE EXTRAS WAS OK. Still a beautiful game though. Going to try for other endings cause there can't be anything worse than that. Cried a lot when the greatest and most inoccent thing got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROASTED.

Anyways this game really does bring a great train of thought and contemplation of what the back of your mind might think, but also the question of are 'Humans' really better than other things, and if so what is classifiscal of humans. The jokes in this game are slightly blaneded, but in all honesty its what the deep though provacation really brings this game out to me. If I still could give this game a reward, it'd be "The tears for thought" award because if you play it you know why.

Tl;Dr: Since Hello Games has proved to me that they aren't abandoning this game and will tough it out and bring new content, I reccomend this game at durring a sale until they come out with like 2 or three more updates which hopefully by then the content added will make it atleast somewhat worth the AAA title price it's at.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I said I would change my review to a positive one if Hello Games released another update to prove they'll stick with the game, and, checking my steam feed, they're doing that. I have to give Hello Games props for not straight up running with the prophet the probably made, and I am truly thankful that they stuck with it, despite the ammount of hate through the really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PR campaign that unmistakibly raised hype and unreachable expectations, along with some definete "cloudy areas" that should've either been avoided or cleared up before launch. As much as I would love to write a pros and cons list, a pros and cons list just are not very good when I want to describe how this game works to me.

No Man's Sky to me seems to be just an experience the world around you type game. There really isn't a true goal, as evidenced by the paths of the atlas, center, or just your own. I've just flew, going where I felt, and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed every last second of just flying throug the abyss seeing strange things or weird dialouge. Though I do have plantives (Lots of similiar assests, that feeling of, "I've seen this planet/animal/rock/plant before," but they seem to be adding more assets so it is lessened from atleast launch.) I tend to overlook them in just to see my relaxation. Is it really worth $60? Well that depends on how you play it.

-Plays for 19+ hours after two days.
-Finds a Shiba Ino tail, but never reads the description.
-Reads the description, and figures out that its a reference to a meme.
-Gets a couple laughs before realizing how stupid it is.
-Continues.
