get it if you're desperate for it, it's one of the best in the series imo

however, at that price, you're getting slapped in the face and kicked in the groin. when i first saw the change, i legit thought steam was glitching and showing me the price of one of the premium editions, or the season pass or something.

no excuse for raising the price on a 10+ year old game.

After a quick revisit, a lot of things have improved. Things that should've been in the game on day 1 were finally added, and overall makes for a smoother experience. I'm actually finding myself wanting to log into the game again instead of just letting it collect dust in my library.

However, I also noticed that problems that were in the game MONTHS ago are still here.

The C-Stack UI has been broken since a couple of updates into the game - around the time Syntax Error came out. Once you buy a C-Stack (or C-Stack bundle) the price increases. However, the UI doesn't update until you leave and re-visit the currency vendor page. This caused me to waste my entire wallet the first time I encountered it, believing that the price didn't change, and I would be genuinely surprised if I was the only one.

Disconnecting from a lobby, even in solo mode, requires that you reload the main menu instead of just bringing you directly to it. This wouldn't be a huge issue, except that it freezes after loading begins and either causes, or makes it feel like, it takes a lot longer to get back to the main menu than it should.

Challenges have for the most part been completely removed, and while most of the community is probably jumping for joy about this, (since infamy has also been reworked, one of the biggest improvements I noticed,) I was personally bummed to see that the 400+ challenges that I had already completed were just gone without any sort of replacement. A lot of the challenges required a lot of grinding (completing one heist hundreds of times for example), so I understand why they were removed, but I feel like a better solution would have been to just lower the requirements for the higher tier challenges. As it is right now, I feel like the only thing to aim for is either increasing your player level, or your weapon levels.

Final minor nitpick, but there haven't been any achievements added with new content either - just the same 22 we had on launch. Not a deal breaker, but just another difference from Payday 2 that seemed notable.

It's close. It really is. Content is coming more readily now, and problems are being fixed, albeit not as quickly as I was hoping. I can easily see myself playing PD3 as much as I did PD2 (especially now compared to launch), but it just needs a few more tweaks.

TL;DR - Updates have fixed a lot of issues, but not all of them. Issues present from the first few updates are still present. Progression has been reworked in a positive way, although challenges are mostly absent now. Not recommending, but it's a close call.

only thing they didn't learn from forces is that green hill and chemical plant shouldn't be in every sonic game. then again most of the level design effort probably went into the open world gameplay so i can see why they're reused again, could've done without the random blocks all over the level though

could've at least used some of the other generations level themes, where's seaside hill when you need it
