Playing a 15 year old game really makes you realize how absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ modern games are. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I mean I just started playing this game after so long since release, and the attention to detail outdoes itself. Play any modern game today, and compare the in game environments to this one and you will see exactly what I mean. Even the damn light fixtures look impressive. THIS is what we mean when modern games are trash. There is no love anymore. Just greed.

0/10 Do not waste your money on this trash. I left the game run for about 25 minutes without ever switching the rotation and managed to acquire 1000 points. I would have watched it but the colors are so damn bright when they change, I had to leave it run in the background. The only reason i died was because I repeatedly pressed the left mouse button locking the spinner in a perpetual axis. Even then though, the hit box for the spinner is so large I was taking out the black circles where I should have been able to.

Definitely in my personal top three games of all time.

i know I only have one hour at the time of this review, but I beat Outlast 2 on PS4 many years ago. Personally speaking, this is the best horror game ever made. Not only does it provide a brutal story with controversial and horrific subjects; the characters are memorable. As a Christian myself, I know many of my brethren might scoff at my appraisal of this game, but I think stories like this are important to discuss. (especially given the history of catholic sexual abuse cases.)

I might expand this review later when I finish the game. I just wanted to express my positive regard to boost the favorable reviews of the game.

TLDR; Buy it. Full price if you can. Support the devs. Will edit this as I journey in the game.

Came across a cave I needed a key for and the idea of marking this on my map for future reference came to mind. Surely the devs didn't code custom map markers, right? Sure enough they did, and they allow 100 of these to be placed. Outstanding.

I have not pulled an "all-nighter" with a game since I was in high school nearly six years ago.

There's definitely a difficulty spike between the lakes and the capital region which was a little frustrating but I managed. Also, it's disappointing that early bosses become generic enemies as you progress through the game. If its got a boss-like health bar, that should be the only one you encounter.

I rarely ever buy these "deluxe editions" nonsense, but Larian deserves the extra money.

I'm only 12 hours in, but this is one of the greatest games I have played in the last few years, maybe even within the last decade. This is the TRUE gaming experience that lacks in AAA development. Thank you for this gem, Larian.

The potential this game has, is perhaps the best ive ever seen in an early access title.
