Not entirely sure about the negative reviews on this one. Steam needs a mixed option and it kinda shows. On the one hand this game is enjoyable and really fun. It is much like Anno and plays similarly, but it is unique in it's land based overworld which I rather enjoy. Theres no real story to the game, but it is enjoyable still because you get to expand a 20th century empire over the world map. I find that really fun and really cool. Graphics are kinda standard. Not great, not terrible. And lastly, the game runs well. Prolly worth the base price but I think I'd pick it up on sale.

I have just finished the game after a incredible 54 hour play-through. The visuals are incredible, the story is interesting and entertaining, the combat is fluid and addictive, and lastly the game is overall just an incredibly fun experience. I am not sure how the story holds up the the last games as I have not fully beaten the originals, however this games story is incredibly deep and gives the player ample choices to influence what happens. Each decision matters and it felt like it every time you were given a choice. There are bugs don't get me wrong, however these bugs were not nearly as bad as I thought and throughout the 54 hour game I played, I only encountered 1 major bug that threatened to soft-lock my game, but this has already been addressed. Speaking of game length, I played for mostly the main and side content and left a good portion of the stashes and other in map random encounters alone, so my 54 hour game time is reflective of only doing mission content. But I imagine if you were to 100% a run in this game, it could take close to or possibly well over 70 to 80 hours. If you are new to the STALKER series or if you are a returning vet, this game provides an incredible experience for anyone brave enough to explore the zone.

Early Access Review
Most of the technical complaints are justified (i.e. server issues, weird hitbox reg issues, and others I'm sure are there but I forgot to list). However, this game is in early access and will be developed more fully over time, so if you don't like testing games, wait for this one to fully release. For those who don't mind a few bugs here and there, the core concept is pretty engaging. It lacks meaningful meta progression, but I find myself playing this game when I have about 2 hours to spare just to pass the time with something fun. I like it.

Have only played a little bit of this game so far but I have tried out the Raid gamemode as well as the multiplayer and truth be told it isn't bad. The only online features will be patched out of SP content so you can play this game offline with SP and the core loop of the game is fun. I find the battalions weird and I struggle to comprehend some of the menu features but I am willing to chock that up to my own misunderstanding. The UI is cluttered and asks for a lot of real-estate but it isn't completely obscuring like other RTS' have been. Overall it is a pretty solid game for just $44.

I enjoy this one. I feel it is pretty faithful to Homeworld in style and concept. Tbh I haven't played the campaign all the way through yet but it is an enjoyable story, as simplified as it is. THe wargames and skirmish is the highlight for me. I do reccomend.

I love it. Thank you Sony for bending the knee and not killing one of my favorite games.

In my opinion, it is true to being an RTS and a Rouge-lite, but it is very simplistic when compared to both genres. The core loop is spawn in region, set up buildings that produce spirits which charge the enemy, use spells to cripple specific bot production plants, win via attrition, and that is the depth of the RTS section. The rouge-lite aspects consist of buffing spells, upgrading powers in 2 progression trees, and progressing through the planet map while managing planetary corruption. And that is pretty much it. If you are looking for a game that is incredibly simple and really fun and chill to play, this is it. There isnt any really deep and thoughtful strategy that goes into the loop. You are god, you use spells to stop machines. But if you are looking for a really thought-out, incredibly tactical and strategic RTS or incredibly complex rouge-lite, look somewhere else. Despite it I do still recommend. It is a unique concept and is generally fun to play and that makes it a solid 7.5/10 in my book.

A very enjoyable RTS and Dawn of War game. I think we can all agree that we wish it was developed to completion.
