Hexels 2 a must for indie game devs
Hexels 2 is amazing, it is very easy to learn and one of the pros for game devs is that you can quickly prototype some art for your game. The grid can be seen as a limitation or a con of this software, but in my opinion it helps you create art faster and make it look nicer. The last part is mostly for people that have struggles with traditional art tools. If you can get this software for a good price I would definitely try it.

my number one software for pixelart
A very well made piece of software build for the currently popular artstyle pixelart. It might not be as powerful as pro motion, but this software is a one time buy and should last for quite a good amount of time before you find any limitations.

An extremely addictive game alone and even better if you can find a friend with the game and play with him. This game is just a good example of how good old games are. Oh ye if you play with a friend no matter what kind of truce you have about factories and cities you will always end up trying to get everything on the map ,because you don't make enough money.

Chris Sawyer / 10 would drive a train and crash it agian.
