I'm doing my part!

Disclaimer: I received the game for free and was also involved with the closed pre-Alpha testing of the game as well as a moderator for the DayZ staff here on Steam.

It saddens me to leave this review as I had high hopes for the game in the beginning but it’s honestly embarrassing that they are pretending that this 0.64 Alpha build is worthy of being called ‘complete’ or treated as a full release.

The developers have fallen far short of what was expected in releasing this ‘1.0’ build of the game and they’ve squandered a massive chance to get players back in the game like myself that for obvious reasons have steered clear of the game for a while, only checking back every couple of patches just to be disappointed with things.

DayZ will no doubt see a nice bump in player numbers now that it’s in a prominent place on the Steam Store but I can safely say that it will fizzle out relatively quickly due to the poor state of gameplay that most players won’t accept.

For players returning after avoiding the game for years the experience isn’t much different, it’s certainly smoother and feels a lot better but other than that it’s the same buggy mess that it always has been.

I hope that the devs continue to develop the game and it’s not abandoned in this incomplete state but the only real chance that DayZ has in the future is that brought on by the legion of modders that made the original DayZ mod and the Arma series what it is today.

We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for DayZ, I hope it finally gets back on track but as it stands I honestly couldn’t recommend that anyone wastes any time on it right now.

Surprisingly good for a Total War game on launch.

No crashes and the quests and loot definitely enhance the campaign gameplay a great amount.

Brilliant story-based game from Telltale.

Must have if you're a Walking Dead fan.
