Its an old classic game, using the DN3D engine, just be aware of some negative points: Confusing level design that contrasts the nice aesthetics, the limited game capabilities, 800x600 DOSBOX resolution; if you don't like old games you don't need it, otherwise it's free!

It's great, but heavily overrated.

The gameplay is a bit of a letdown as it was repetitive, the emotional impact is also a bit of a letdown to when compared to the original, but it's heavy in story and even beating the whole game can leave out huge bits of information requiring looking up.

In the original, fighting felt more like a natural purpose, as everyone in Rapture pretty much went insane, but as this one you're running from police and stuff it just doesn't have the same purpose of escape as the first/
Despite that, this game has a two weapon limit for realism and to further make it a challange when deciding ranges, you will only have enough money to upgrade a few guns, so pick wisely.

The vigors have a few flaws too, some of them greatly overpower others or become situational. The combat is tense on higher difficulties, but is a walk in the park on lower difficulty, but the secret 1998 mode is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to play; I don't think 1998 is a good word to describe it, its like playing Mario but you have 30 seconds, every enemy is a hammer brother and there's only 1 life.

Here's how it begun.
First I died in 29 game days of insanity because all I tried to do was pick flowers to restore sanity, but now I'm past day 440 so there comes a point where the game becomes easy that survival is infinite.
But hey, it's hard at the start and caves are a nice challange.
