Changing this review, due to the successful rollback of the PSN change

Helldivers 2, a fun, engaging and challenging co-op third person shooter.
One of the few PvE games which made me use actual military tactics due to the challenge presented.

It's gameplay mechanics are realistic with penetration, heavy weapons and weapon niches.
Each weapon is useful for something and fits into it's own little niche.
Making sure every person on a 4 man team can find his own role and style of play.

Support weapons and stratagems are a great mechanic which forces you to be tactical and picky with your engagements, implementing air and orbital support in a balance, feel like the US gov one minute, and the NVA the next.

The enemies are for the most part, varied, fun to play against and each has their own weakness.
This goes for the Automatons more than the Terminids, since enough lead will eventually kill the vast majority of them.
As someone who mostly played against bots, they require tactics to engage, such as ambushes, peeling, bounding overwatch, infiltration and more. Each bot has it's own quirks, troopers, rocket troopers, jetpack troopers, maraders will rush you down, effective and numerous fodder which will one minute melee you and chase you, then the next will lay down insane amounts of supressive fire on your position. Commissars are your HVTs, kill them or they'll call for more bots. Devastators are the guys with the big guns (or rocket pods) medium armoured enemies which will use heavy ordinance to pin you down, ragdoll you out of cover, or just straight up shoot so much you swear you're on the receiving end of a Huey. Hulks are 40k Dreads, Assault units which, with their status as walking tanks, will either rush you, or bombard you from afar. Tanks, self explanatory And Factory Striders an unholy child of both a Supreme Commander Fat Man and an AT-AT, equipped with a heavy cannon and 2 gatling guns, you want to kill this beast as soon as possible. This bot will go down easiest shooting at it's sides or undercarriage, alternatively use 4 500kg bombs.

Maps and Missions are varied, with more probably coming in the near future. Currently maps are mostly rural, with some sparse settlement somewhere, deserts, forests, canyons, plains etc.
Missions are a lot of fun, especially launch ICBM, which rewards you with a big boom at the end of the primary objective. Secondary objectives are randomly generated, and range from giving you a benefit, to giving the enemy a benefit to simply being there for a lore reason.

Premium currency can be earned in game, for free and progression is paced reasonably.
All in all arrowhead have done a great job with the game
Which shows in the passion of this community and the dedication it has to it's lore, it's ongoing story of the galactic war, and the game itself.

One of the best games i have ever played, and speedran
if you like story based games you'll enjoy this title that basically revolutionized the genre back in 1999
it's also a great game for speedrunning.
