Tl;dr
Kindred Spirits on the Roof is a yuri visual novel. It is the best visual novel that I’ve ever read. If you’re into yuri or just looking for a good romantic visual novel, I highly recommend this game.

(Note: Spoilers and some of these points are my opinions)

Story- The story revolves around the game’s protagonist finding out about and meeting two female ghosts or kindred spirits in a relationship on the roof of Kokonotsuboshi Girls' Academy, an all girls school. The Kindred Spirits, seeing that they have finally been heard and acknowledged, ask the protagonist to help them become one in body because they don’t know how to do “it.” But, neither does the main protagonist know how to do it. So, to learn how to do it, the three of them attempt to get girls who have hidden feelings for other girls in their school together to make a “yuritopia” and observe them do it. This is the main gist of the story and this makes for a really interesting and creative plot in my opinion. I also love the pacing of the story, although a bit slow and repetitive at times. The story is really memorable and heartwarming, and I doubt that I will forget this story.

Characters- In my opinion, each of the characters are unique and it was really fun and enjoyable to see the changes in their person and in their relationship with other people.

Gameplay/Controls- It’s a visual novel so it’s just your standard press a button to advance the story. However, I really appreciate the ease of the controls and the variety of controls as well. It’s really easy to use the scroll wheel (down to progress, and up to replay text) and there are so many customizable options for a visual novel. You have an option to the change how transparent the text box is, remove the text box, skip to a certain point, replay voice acting for a certain line, and more. I also appreciate the use of a planner or calendar to advance to the next part of the story. Because of this planner, it is easy to review artworks or cg that you have already seen for a particular month. It also allows you to replay to certain points in the story with ease. You can also access the music and play different tracks in the planner.

Graphics and Art Style- The game has an unchangeable standard 800x600 resolution but personally, this issue doesn’t really bother me. The game still has beautiful art direction and the art is what attracted me to buy this game in the first place.

Music- There are a only a few songs that are played in the game but I don’t really mind that since the music in the game is very catchy and most of them are upbeat. I’d find myself playing the songs in my head or even saying or singing them. There are also other songs that fit the mood of the scenes in the game very well. Like I said earlier, you have the options to all of the the music played in the game in the planner.

Voice Acting- This game has good voice actors. Each of them suit their characters really well and I didn’t dislike any voice for each of the characters. Not all parts of the game are voice acted but I think there's no problem there.

A h game with fantastic art, good grammar, main text and sub text, voice acting, and a free patch. Recommended for it's price even without sale.

Whoever hasn't gotten this game is a PECK NECK.
