No dedicated servers, terrible hit reg, same gun mechanics as all the other CoD games, same sounds, same, same, same.

I'll pass, thank you.

Deus Ex, who doesn't remember this great game?
Oh you don't? What, everyone does... You really don't?
So... You want to hear a story, eh? One about First Person Shooters? Haha, have I got a story for you!

It all began in the year 2000. A game called Deus Ex was released; this game was a hybrid between First Person Shooters, Stealth and Roleplaying Games.
It was not the first of its kind that was System Shock, which was released all the way back in 1994, back when things were still on Floppy Disks, talk about long ago. Its sequel came in 1999 with the innovative title System Shock 2. A game critically acclaimed and touted as the best shooter ever, and it was. It held the title of the best game ever for a whole year.

Then came Deus Ex, this game is to date still touted as the best shooter to ever come out. In fact PC Gamer had it in the first place for best shooters for over a decade.

The game was celebrated for its RPG elements and fluid combat. Choices had consequences, how you could approach all missions in the game how you wanted it with finesse, stealth, cunning or plain brute force.

For a time the people were happy. Unfortunately, all good things get a sequel.
This game was Deus Ex: Invisible War, a game that had so much potential and so much to live up to, that it fell flat on its face.
The story was not as good; the mechanics were a rehash of the original game but dumb down, because this game was to be released on the Xbox.
And so the fans for the first game were disgusted, disgruntled and disillusioned with the franchise and went back to playing the original game.

Fast forward EIGHT years, a third game was release. This game was not made by Ion Storm like the first two, but instead by Eidos Montreal. A new company founded by Eidos Interactive who had bought Ion Storm back in 2001. Eidos Montreal was made to create First Person hybrid games. Namely Deus Ex and Thief.

And so we arrive at the game this review is really about.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
It is not a sequel to the two previous games, but rather a prequel. The game takes place 25 years before JC Denton makes his debut as a UNATCO agent.
The Augment technology is in its infancy, implants and augments are bulky and highly visible. Civil unrest is plaguing the world as humanity takes the step towards self evolution. Radical factions have begun to escalate things, on one side the factions that believe in purity of the body and the equally extreme factions for Augments.
This is where we come in. Adam Jensen is the security manager for the company Sarif Industries, the world leading company for making biomechanical augments. A break in leaves Adam a broken man, forced to have most of his body replaced with augments to survive. Adam finds himself hurled into a world of intrigue and explosions as a secret organization tries to exploit the political climate to their own advantage.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is worth the name, unlike Invisible War, the game delivers on the story and gameplay, it is the game we hoped Invisible War would have been. The combat is smooth, both the gunplay and the take-down mechanics leave you satisfied. You could go through most of the game without being seen or even killing anyone, with the exception of four bosses in the game.
You get awarded no matter your playstyle, do you want to sneak around and knock people out drag them behind a corner and sneak along the corridors or streets? Here have a bonus for being stealthy. Do you want to charge in and enjoy the pretty explosions? Go right ahead.
The game also rewards completionists and people loving lore and Easter eggs, hack into computers all over the missions and read both company and personal mail to and from people in this magnificently crafted universe.

All in all Highly recommended to anyone who likes hybrid First Person Shooters.

A game worthy of the name finally after so many years.
While it has been changed compared to the original. It still has the same feel, the same mood, the same ungrateful nations backing your XCOM project.
Even on Normal setting you can get in so deep that you cannot fund your project and loose the game. Loosing a man on a mission is considered a good result after the mission.
The game has an Ironman mode, couple that with a difficulty higher than normal and you can have an experience that rivals or is harder than the original game.

In conclusion, highly recommended for the fans of strategic turnbased combat.
