My characters found some really neat items in this game, and they didn't even have to repeat the same boss over and over again or grind out levels to find them.

10 / 10, "Why can't the FPS game be like this?"

To say that PAYDAY 2 has had a rocky history would be an understatement. What began as a humble sequel to a co-op 4 player FPS game turned into a live service DLC nightmare over the course of several years. This wasn't exactly a bad thing, though; it made sense that relatively small DLC packs would need to be released in order to cover the cost of maintaining the game.

Many players, including myself, felt that the lowest point was during Crimefest 2015. Absolutely no one liked that update. Adding keys and crates, skin gambling, and microtransactions into a game that ALREADY had a premium price tag and DLC packs caused a lot of people to leave, and change their reviews to negative. Originally, this was meant to squeeze out money from whales who were into skin gambling before the release of PAYDAY 3, which was scheduled to be in development soon after the White House heist was released, effectively ending the PAYDAY 2 story line. My review remained negative since then.

OVERKILL faced financial troubles following their Walking Dead and StarVR projects, and was required to extend the PAYDAY 2 storyline with the Silk Road update in order to maintain interest in the game. This, while originally not intended, helped regain good faith in the company, and convinced a lot of veteran players to return. Since Silk Road, we've had the Infamy 3.0 update which added more levels -- giving players who have already done all the missions something to work towards while helping newer players in the game.

Now that microtransactions are completely gone and the game is still being maintained... yes, I can actually recommend this game again. Buy the bundle, and you'll have most of the content ready to go from the very moment you start.

I didn't understand how you could possibly have a "Historical Pack" without the inclusion of an M1 Thompson. I then contemplated why I couldn't possibly understand this, made an angry post on the forum about it, got incomprehensible replies on the forum, made an angry post about my angry post, then cried myself to sleep whilst playing with other users who were also using the new historical weapons, having a genuinley good time during the hiest.

I then completeley forgot about my irrational anger about the M1 Thompson not being included.

I then looked at the clock and realized I had been playing PAYDAY 2 for the past 6 hours, missing an important assignment deadline for work.

This DLC pack ruined my life.

10 / 10, would buy again.
