If you liked DD1, you'll really like this game too. It's just more of the same, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. It's a bit of a shame about the microtransactions, I've not ran into any technical difficulties but I don't doubt they're there. I'd suggest waiting and seeing if they are able to fix it up a bit if you're on the fence or don't have the performance on your PC to play it. It feels like a big DD1 expansion rather than anything else, so if you haven't play DD1 and are interested in this you should play that before you buy this because it's practically the same, but if you played DD1 and liked it you will like this.

Really liked this DLC

Iberia does feel a lot more fun to play, some nice new events, always feels like something is happening. You do have to think about where you're expanding as well which usually you don't have to due to the assistance mechanics. All the outfits really stand out as well, unlike the Abbasid / HRE clothing which kind of blends into their region, characters in Spain really stand out from everyone. Even if it is a bit annoying if the AI takes you out of a phase you want to be in, or stops you getting into one you want to be in, it does feel like Iberia is a lot more alive with stuff going on in this DLC. Better than Royal Court, better than Northern Lords. Really enjoyed. Spain was already my favourite region to play in the game, I'd say, so I hope some of the other regions get a glow up like this in the future.

Played this game for a bit on multiplayer. Seemed to be working alright there, there were a few issues but nothing major. Generally more stable than previous Paradox Games ( if you can believe it ;) ). In general, the game is pretty easy, and it seems as though steamrolling the AI is going to be the norm for most players, once you get going you can sort of snowball out of control. There's not a lot of micromanagement, really, or character interactions and unlike in EUIV the countries don't really seem to have much unique going on. The AI also doesn't seem to understand how to "play" the game, for example migratory tribes don't engage in migrations. The combat system is pretty nifty, apparently they're adding something for the naval system at a later date as well, which currently is very limited in how the player can influence the outcome of battles.

When I went in to play singleplayer, however, simply does not work. It does not tick past the month of November ( the game starts in October, so that's a whole month of gameplay to enjoy ). Thought it might have just been me, but this was an issue that effected many players, and is still effecting us after launch. They're saying they're working on a patch, but as of now the game is, and I say this with utter sincerity, unplayable. Give it a miss, wait for them to fix it, can't recommend it to anyone just in case you end up in the same boat as me and many others.

The fact that there is already DLC for this game, the Hellenistic flavour pack, is really disconcerting to me as the game doesn't even work on release. Just honestly really disappointed.

Edit: The issue was resolved, though not by Paradox. You use console, type "TH", hit tab then hit 4 and for some reason you can play past November. Now that you can actually play the game, I can recommend it.
