Very promising, could turn out to be a gem of a game missing in the current car arcade/wangan style gaming area.
My only complaints so far is that the GPS/guidance often puts you into oncoming traffic or makes no sense leading to navigation during and to races being a nightmare.

Sound loops are very obvious once you hit higher speeds.

It's alright, you can actually play for free though the grind is mind numbing. I recommend short bursts.

The air arcade and sim are pretty good fun, the game could benifit from mixed units but I guess that would hurt it's public reach if you could use foot soldiers to attack a tank or the other way around.

If you have some aviation friends to fly with, grouping up in sim air is a blast, there's not a lot of mission-like content though.

Preservation of Source Material? Check.
Re adding original lost content? Check.
Avoiding large content cuts? Check.
Refining and adding to established lore? Check.
First/third person? I would have liked this but no.
Timeless visual presentation? Check.
Control schemes for everyone? Check.
Still pretty corny? Check.

This should be a standard to measure future remakes by.

Just the best all round road vehicle game.

My only complaint so far is the new sound for a the Ibishu BX, the sound loop is very obvious and grating at higher speed / RPM.

I have almost 9000 hours on this so I guess it's alright.
The core game isn't that interesting to me personally. It's an RNG battle royale with a lot of ground to cover and zombies to give away your or your enemies location. You will die often and suddenly with no clue if you were shot for existing or killed by a hacker.

The mods are where this game shines with PvP focused servers that encourage people into smaller areas to fight and often with active moderation to prevent cheaters.

PvE focused servers that make use of the large maps to encourage exploration and survival game play, often featuring enhanced natural dangers like custom creatures, beefed up infected and even AI bandits. Most of these servers also have the added bonus of not being sniped because you exist or killed by a hacker.

Had high hopes for this game. It was very promising in the start, then it flatlined and it seemed content was being removed, the game was becoming less stable and more and more it felt like a minimum viable product delivered with artificial retention to put impressive numbers on a whiteboard.

Farewell old friend. If there's ever an Elite Dangerous II, I hope you won't have microtransactions, unstable netcode and multiplayer that affects singleplayer.

I hope you will have, good multiplayer, full scale, immersive ship handling and seamless transition between ship to launchable to feet.

(PS I know the argument big planets with nothing on them but hear me out. Huge 1 to 1 scale planets that are 99% empty, but that 1% is packed with interesting content. The remaining 99% is just scenery and or resource generation for mining etc.)
