A new height for the Resident Evil series which is both a return to form and the foundation for something new and refreshing.

A month went by in a blur like a journey down the Styx. The river of story, game-play, and progression never stopped flowing, and it looked and sounded beautiful too. I'm not a big fan of rogue-likes, but Hades quickly became one of my favorite games of the year.

An emotionally involving adventure game with characters you come to know and care for, or maybe even hate. The Walking Dead succeeds in immersing players in a zombie apocalypse through non-obtrusive gameplay that is built around a solid script and screenplay, believable voice actors, and meaningful and timed decision making that captures the reality of choice and consequence.

Much more than the typical "jack-in-the-box" scares, Amnesia: The Dark Descent's production values effectively immerse the player into every stone, fabric, and sound of the environment, plunging him or her into a kind of horror that slowly seeps into the subconscious and pervades every thought and action, enveloping the whole in a terrifying adventure filled with pulse-pounding tension and engrossing mystery--all without having the player fire a bullet. The physics and mechanics of this survival horror title call for a different kind of thinking to tackle the obstacles ahead, and this will definitely be a challenge, given all the aforementioned circumstances! Whether easily scared or not, you will not regret the quality of this horror experience.

Provided that your PC can run the game properly (recent patches should have helped), Black Ops delivers a memorable single-player campaign that is consistent in quality. Unlike Modern Warfare 2's campaign, Black Ops features varied mission pacing and often startling locales instead of the "one-note-explosions-everwhere theme" we were accustomed to. (Though MW2's campaign was thrilling in its own way.) One might even catch the influence of classic John Woo action in one of the missions, or become interested in unravelling certain mind games and conspiracy theories.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FINISHING THE CAMPAIGN OF "WORLD AT WAR" FIRST--this will really help players connect with some of the characters (hint: Russian) and appreciate the latter parts of the campaign on another level. I read on some forums that many players "didn't get" why others were attached to some key moments in the campaign, mainly because important character development relies on the experience in World at War.
