its pretty good, once you figure out what's actually happening.
The most Rogue-like Rogue-like you'll own. Its also quite interesting to see where the genre evolved from.
If you want to play a similar game that is more cohesive though, try pixel dungeon.

Hotline Miami is a hyper active, top down, arcadey, beat 'em up game with bright colours and fun and fast-paced gameplay that rewards your for being reckless. Paired with an amazing outrun styled soundtrack. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy a challenge.
