EDIT: After a long fought battle, Sony has done the smart thing and backtracked on the requirement to link a PSN acct to continue to play this amazing game, i am changing my review back to Positive because that is the correct thing to do, however, i will not remove the text from my original review because we should never forget why we fought and what we won.

How to kill your uber succesful game in 3 Steps.

Step 1.- Nerf all the things that people are having fun with
Step 2.- Inform your player base that they now need to link their Steam accounts (one of the safest accounts on the fkin planet btw, as exemplified by Gabe giving us his Steam log in 20 years ago and offering a million dollars to anyone who was able to access it and bypass 2-step and so far no one has come even close) with a Playstation account (one of the unsafest accounts on the planet exemplified by the fact that Sony has been hacked about 20 times in the last 10 years and each time with bigger and worst consecuences than the last)
Step 3.- Claim its for "our own good"

Profit!

Now to clarify, i do own a PS5, i do have a PS account and have had one for the last 15 years, and having the choice to play this game on PC or PS5 i choose PC and there is a reason for that, mainly because i trust Valve with my life and my kids life, and i cant trust Sony with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rock on a Stone Quarry, so why the ♥♥♥♥ i am forced to link an account now, 2 months after launch, i wish Valve does the right thing here and allow us to ask for refunds, this is a Bait and Switch no matter how you wanna spin it. so Gabe, do the right thing here, you know you have to.

Even for Free you still manage to be a Trash game Madden, what have they done to you. You can't even configure the ♥♥♥♥ properly so it actually detects my Ps5 controller always as opposed to once every 300 launches. Thanks, but no thanks, gonna finish any other Single Player game you have on the collection and im done with you.

Sequels don't work, at least most of the time. Spin-offs are bad, at least as a general rule. And then, along came Persona 5 Strikers, which serves as much of a spin-off as a sequel. It is by no means a perfect game, no game is perfect, but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ near it. Atlus could have re-skinned a warriors game whit Persona, and i would have bought it. Instead, what i got was a love letter to both, the Phantom Thieves and the Players.

This carries over a great deal of Persona 5. While some elements are shaved due to mechanics, most of them evolved with the gameplay change. Confidants are replaced by a bond system, you generate bond points trough certain requests or by fighting along characters. As expected the buffs from bonds are geared towards action games, more damage, faster bond growth, etc. At the same time this serves as a much friendlier system to the player, while still advances the narrative and deepens the bond between characters with the random personal request.
All the over the top action and showtimes are still present, and i must say, they are one of my favorite animations from the game, Atlus really brought out the personality of each Phantom Thieve trough this silly little animations. The combat itself feels fluid and gratifying, if at times a bit repetitive killing random trash. But where the game really shines is trough their boss fights. This has one of my favorite Boss encounters of the saga, and i thought it was nearly impossible to beat Futaba's Palace Boss. It could still use a bit more information on screen, like the direction and the type of incoming attacks from outside the screen, but it is by no means a deal breaker.

The downside to this game is, if you have not played Persona 5 OG you will probably feel left out on most of the conversations. A lot of references and inside jokes are beautiful winks to veterans of the saga, but might flew over the head of those not familiar with the lore, and i must say, this might lower your enjoyment of the game.

Overall i will say, give this game a change if you are a fan of Persona 5, if you haven't played Persona 5 yet, i will still recommend buying this one, as it is a very good warriors like game, and despite the random reference you might miss, the game does a very good job at exploring the characters and the narrative is A+ as i have come to expect from Atlus.

Pros

++Combat is fluid and rewarding
++Graphics are BEAUTIFUL
++4k 60fps
++Controls are very good and have a variety of schemes
++More P5 and Phantom Thieves
++Story Rich as any other Persona/Shin Megami

Cons

--Heavy loaded with references and inside jokes (not necessary to enjoy the game, but you do miss some of the enjoyment)
--No TIa Takemi ( SRSLY NGGS where is ma TIA)
--Somewhat short (about 40-50ish hours depending on how fast you rush it)
--No costumes DLC (yes for this game, that is a Con, trust me on this one)

All in all, if you are a P5 fan this is a 9/10, if you are not, this is easy an 8/10. Buy it now!!

I have 300 hours and i can tell. Nothing changes in this game, its just garden variety Korean Money Grab. Overpowered characters that you need to buy on a constant basis, retarded prices (about 300 USD to get a guaranteed character on the gacha) Absolutely no sense of balance, new players get matched against Wales on a constant basis, and even if you manage to find a match that is closer to your skill level it would not matter anyways, as the rest of the players that are not Wales, are Chinese or Brazilian players with over 200 Ping, and you are gonna get Lag trashed by Phantom blocks and 100% success rates because they shot with no mark, and developers do nothing about them.
Do not get fooled by the constant suspension posts, as those are almost always because someone found a way to cheat the store, not the game, if you cheat the game there is no consequence.
Bottom line is, if you have like a lot of money to trash around go for it, you will enjoy this a lot, if you are looking for a balanced fair game, this is not it.
