Shockwave update is gas bro. People review bombing over a battle pass that they are not forced to buy nor does it directly benefit your game play

Every single game (Not most, I mean literally every single match) someone is AFK or lags out. This game is unplayable.

There is currently one singular moba game mode (I say moba game mode because there are two other game modes; one is a 5v5 brawl similar to what Heroes of the Storm had, and one is a training mode vs AI.) Since there is only one game mode, and no ranked, you would assume it would have decent matchmaking. If you assumed this, you would be mistaken.

Unfortunately, this games high quality graphics and interesting characters are irrelevant due to the game being unplayable. In the current game mode, there is no matchmaking. When you click queue, you are simply put in a line and its first come first serve. The game does not take any statistics into account. The only matchmaking it uses is the order in which a player hits the "Play" button. Because of this, you are constantly having brand new players on your team who walk aimlessly down their same lane every single game. On the occasion you'll get that one League of Legends player with 8000 hours in challenger on your team, but 90% of the games I have played are all unbearable due to the imbalance there is between the two teams.

It is a genuinely fun game, but until there is a ranked game mode added, or the matchmaking is fixed, this game can not be recommended by anyone other than people who have never played a moba before.

The art, the gameplay, the enemies, the UI, the new spawn area, the new characters, gods, boons. Everything is just better. All of the interaction art style has so much more life, some even having subtle animation such as blinking which may seem insignificant, but actually brings a lot of life. Each character interaction also now has a unique background rather than just the God's character, which just feels amazing. All of the negative reviews starting it off with "Ermm, I have 100%'d Hades! I know what I am talking about!" are all grown men pushing 40 who want to critique anything they can on the internet because it gives them some sense of power. This is a perfectly polished, content full game for only $30 dollars. And this is just on release. Supergiant Games has proven in the past that they add an insane amount of content throughout the years, which is insane considering we already have more content than a lot of $60 dollar games bring us a year after release. It is extremely rare you find games like these, and you especially never find them in sequels of games, yet Hades II has done it. The only critique I have, which a lot of people agree with, is the dashing does have about a .25 second delay when you press it. Although you don't dash instantly, you still receive the brief invincibility you get during a dash during those first .25 seconds, so it is not game breaking, it is just a quality of life thing. If you can get past that minor inconvenience, and you enjoyed Hades, then you will love Hades II.

Not a bad game if you want a complex rogue like with lots of builds, but this game is just so over the top and confusing in my opinion.

So many of the items/upgrades have such a long description to the point where by the time I read what the third perk does, I have to read the first perk again to remind myself what it was. On top of the long descriptions for everything, there are also so many effects. Status effects, weapon effects, attributes, just everything. It is impossible to remember what everything is, and I just could not be bothered to get invested enough into the game to try to learn.

This game is also NOT controller friendly, which I heavily value in most single player games (Especially rogue-likes and roguelites.) The inventory system is pointlessly confusing on controller, and I feel like it could be made a lot more simple.

Overall, the game is just way too complex and confusing, and it just kind of throws everything at you instead of easing into it. I think the issue is that game title and art style led me to believe it was a sit back and relax casual kind of game, when it wasn't.

If you want a pixel-art rogue like, play vampire survivors.

The game greets players with three different starter pack bundles, all containing weapons that one shot you at any armor level. The game is truly unplayable if you are free to play. Battle Royale is the only "balanced" mode, but unfortunately the whole game is ported poorly and the movement feels like it was developed by a monkey, so the BR game mode is dreadful. Pixel Gun 3D's downfall should be studied.

Pros: Game has a lot of passion behind the development and it is extremely noticeable while playing. The diving and exploration is fun with new and fresh ways to do so being added throughout the game, and tons of mini games and high quality/funny cinematics.

Cons: There's no sex

Update: Still no sex
