This game has potential, but it is not worth 30 dollars in this state.
Conceptually, the idea of having one stable world for a while and making progress through it (and having multiple "runs" of a world) is pretty good. However, the world is permanent and you aren't. Upon death, you lose weapons, gear, and currency, yet all you took from the world is gone. I feel that the entire concept of weapons being destroyed eventually is flawed, and that the game would be better if the weapons stayed until the end of the cycle, and you being able to pick starting weapons and upgrading them over the course of said cycle.
Second issue: what is parrying even *for*? Parrying makes sense in a game where you fight a few enemies with clear, telegraphed attacks. Hyper Light Breaker is a game where you fight hordes of enemies that seldom indicate their attacks. Even if you do somehow manage to parry a hit, you'll probably be smacked by another one of the 10 or so you fight at a time. The parry also has a slight bit of a wind up, which makes it even more punishing.
One of my key annoyances is the imbalance between the time it takes for enemies to die and you to die. You die fast, the enemies don't. Medkits get more and more expensive, and there's no natural regeneration. You also don't start out with any medkits.
It's not all bad, and decently stable for an early access (save for the fact that it struggles to reach 60fps when that's the cap). It's got potential and a good base, but many of the details have been horribly mismanaged, making this a frustrating game that snowballs against you as you die quick and lose gear, which makes it even harder. Hopefully will be good some day, but this is not a good use of money now.

All the buzz around this game isn't just for show, Deep Rock Galactic really is *that* good.
The game itself has a good deal of things to do, 4 classes with unique roles and a hefty arsenal of weapons, a bunch of biomes and mission types and modifiers. Gameplay is fun and polished overall, with new stuff coming out at a decent pace. There are two glowing points for this game:
1. The monetization system. You buy the game once, thats all you need. All seasonal content is fully free, and accessible at any point after its release (you can switch seasons at will!). Only thing you can buy afterwards is cosmetic but even then, fully optional and free cosmetic options are more than enough to have good (or stupid) looking dwarves.
2. Community and culture. There's just something about it. People are very often helpful and welcoming to new players (lovingly referred to greenbeards). Any given lobby is likely to have chill players just looking to disintegrate some bugs. There's also a lot of fun community in-jokes like pinging one specific mushroom repeatedly and driller always managing to blow up the scout.
This game is perfect if you, like me, have approximately 3 other very close friends to do stuff with. Less than that? Singleplayer is perfectly fine too (and so is finding random lobbies). More than that? This game and its developers are very cool with modding, so you could probably find a way to increase playercount. Probably, don't 100% me on that.
I highly recommend DRG, full stop. Rock and Stone!

They fixed most of the bugs, good on them. Still, Gearbox shouldn't have pushed for a release for a dlc that clearly wasn't playtested.

As for the content itself, it's just plain alright. I like some of the new characters. Some items are neat. The new stages are really nice in my opinion. However, still not much compared to how game-changing Survivors of the Void was. The items in this dlc are often near useless and serve only to dilute the item pool, inadvertently making the game harder. No real new mechanics, and too few enemies to really make a difference. Still worth it, if you like the game, but the real bang for your buck will be Survivors of the Void. Despite being fixed, this dlc needed a lot more time in the oven to produce some impactful additions.

Overall, perfectly okay. But just that, okay. Passable, almost painfully. I'd still recommend it, but only if you want the "full" experience.

Risk of Rain 2 is a great rougelike that adapts the genre well to the 3d space. Lots of achievements, items, and a few different gamemodes flesh out the game into something that well, never really gets old. Remember, the true win state of the game is when it crashes due to all the stuff spawned as a direct result of your build's power.

Beautiful story with some of the best feeling turn based combat I've ever experienced. Even without playing the previous games in the series, I still felt that I had a pretty good grasp of the lore throughout. It is also a gacha game that is bad at being a gacha game (in the favor of the player, obviously) but it still *is* a gacha game, so beware. Only complaint is that the tutorial sucks, ranging from poor explanation to outright no mention of many key mechanics. But hey, nothing a youtube video or two won't fix.

Watching your friends get whisked away by unspeakable horrors with impeccable comedic timing has never been this easy! I'm not much of a horror fan, but this game has been really enjoyable so far!

This is some of the best DLC I've ever had the joy of playing, so I'm going to try and write a brief and hopefully semi-spoiler-free review. (Some minor base game mechanics mentioned)

TL;DR: Like the base game but with fresh mechanics and story, the horror element is near perfect too

First thing, I doubt this will be as good if you haven't played the base game first, so I'd recommend buying or playing this DLC post-completion. Anyways, this is great additional content to the base game, as it feels same but different in a way. It's still got the outer wilds essence of running around solving space mysteries, however the execution is new and makes the experience refreshing. While the base game was spread out all over the solar system, Echoes is contained within 2-closely connected locations, which makes it easier to progress, however its a bit linear. The dlc is more visual than the base game, as most of the lore and clues are from pictures rather than text. On one hand, this makes it easier to figure out whats going on, but also makes the stories presented feel more ominous and impersonal (A good thing, mind you!). While the nomai have their own stories and personalities, these "Strangers" never really say anything. This ties into the key element:

The spooks! Keep in mind that I am really easy to scare and was only able to make it through with the help of my friend (thanks Liv!). I can, however, appreciate the fact that all the horror is atmospheric and there's no jumpscares or anything. I was paralyzed with fear just because of how the environment felt, not because I knew that any corner could hide something that would pop out and scream at me. (Note that the option "reduced frights" changes a certain mechanic, the atmosphere is still present and ever-scary) This story nails that ominous tone, but keeps you hooked with curiosity and the desire to figure out space mysteries.

Few minor things to note: rafting is fun! music is really good too. The worst part about this dlc is that I have the post-outer-wilds-depression thing again. You really cannot play this game again without being ruined thereafter, and thats part of the enjoyment! As the a friend of mine once said, "I <3 Outer Wilds"

This game really toys with your heartstrings (in a good way!). Spiritfarer is a comfy, beautiful game about sailing the ocean, helping your spirit friends find peace, and about saying farewell. First of all, the art itself is amazing, with each area having its own well-established atmosphere. The spirits that you meet are a large, colorful cast of well written personalities, and touching stories. The gameplay itself is very relaxing, with no real need for inventory management and the gathering of resources is never grindy. Game itself is smooth and runs well, I have yet to see a single bug. Music is fantastic, and while the soundtrack list is not large, the music fits well and sounds nice. Another minor thing I like is how the filler npc spirits are still funny and unique, despite having no ties to the story. Easy 10/10 and top 10, this game is fantastic and I recommend this to just about everyone!
