I've only played the game with the free DLC packs, so I can't comment what the game was like before. I have read that it wasn't in great shape at the beginning, but I can tell you with the free DLC the game is great fun. Vortex is a great change in gameplay over the usual domination. One thing to note for someone who hasn't played a total war game in a while, hero's do more than their face value (I.E. mages aren't just about casing spells).

I also brought the High/Dark Elf pack because elves. If you like Archer armies those Sisters are a must!

They did an amazing job. Definitely worth your money.

Only one question remains: Eldar campaign when?!

Hands down the best city builder since Sim CIty 4. Amazing core game. Imaginative and engaged Workshop community. A must own game.

The Roller Coaster Tycoon sequal you've been waiting for. The team at Frontier have taken everything that was great about RCT3 and pushed it to the limits.

I played a lot of alpha, I am still working my way through the release game. But I can tell you this: the terrain tools are wondeful. I made a lot of RCT3 maps back in the day and there were a lot of things you just couldn't do. Not anymore. The map crafting tools are so fun to use I've not even built a Coaster yet. I could quite happily put 100 hours into the terrain tools alone without even touching coaster or building design.

If you love sims, if you love coasters, if you loved RCT3, you have to buy this game!
