Absolutely amazing! It's much better than the first game in every aspect.

The annoying planning sections where you have to scan every enemy to plan out how to deal with them? GONE

The meaningless dialogue that doesn't take you anywhere because the story beats are pre-determined and the game doesn't let you stray off the path? GONE

The slow pacing of the story in chapters 3 and 4? GONE

The black-and-white dichotomy of characters where there's a clear trend of who are the good guys you should side with and who are the bad guys or soon-to-turn bad guys? GONE

I can't emphasize this enough. If you didn't like the first game too much, it was probably because of one or more of those factors. Batman: The Enemy Within genuinely heard the criticism and got rid of all of its problems to provide players with a fresh, gripping, and genuinely thrilling story that WILL get you hooked.

If you have any interest in the Batman universe, however small or large it may be, please, PLEASE give this game a chance!

Absolutely amazing! At first I was afraid of buying this game because of all the bad press it got when it launched, especially surrounding the optimization, which honestly really is pretty bad. I have an RTX 4070 and the game ran at 80 - 90 Fps with DLSS at 3440x1440, which is more than acceptable to me, but the game has a memory leak, because after playing for 2 or 3 hours it just starts falling apart - textures don't load in, the game starts stuttering like crazy and even though it doesn't outright crash, I'm still forced to reset to make these issues go away, which is not ideal.

If it were any other game I wouldn't recommend it because the optimization really is terrible, but since the game is simply amazing when it comes to story, gameplay and improvements it brings on top of its predecessor, I can't help but feel like a 67% positive score is a little unfair and doesn't reflect the game's quality.

The story is better than Jedi Fallen Order's. I didn't want to believe it at first, but after playing I can confirm that it really improved upon what was already amazing.

The gameplay also received huge changes. Not we get 5 different lightsaber stances, a bunch of special abilities unique to each stance and more enemy variety than before. Level design also improved and broke free from the "platforming -> combat -> platforming -> combat -> platforming -> combat" loop that Jedi Fallen Order fell victim too. There's still a fair bit of platforming and combat, but this time there's also some pretty elaborate puzzles and story beats to break up the pace.

The game is also filled to the brim with bosses, minibosses, more lightsaber battles than in Fallen Order, more characters and bigger planets.

It really is a perfect sequel. If it weren't for the bad optimization, I'm sure it would easily get a 90+% score on steam. But mind you, even though the optimization is pretty bad, the game still runs! Just tone down the settings a bit, enable DLSS and with a mid-tier GPU it should be easy to stay above 60 FPS. Don't miss out on this gem!

It's complicated....

On the one hand, it is the original PS1 game. Story-wise it aged well, and the cinematic experience is worth it even today. You start to see how good of a game director Kojima is when a game he made in 1998 is still enjoyable more than two decades after it was first released.

As a package, you get the original US and Europe version of MGS1, along with the additional VR Special Missions Disc, which was also exclusive to the US and Europe at the time. You also get MGS1 Integral, which is the japanese version of the original MGS1 bundled up with the VR Special Missions additional content and some other extras like a first-person mode and a new weapon. Lastly, there's a screenplay of the original game that has stuff like custom artwork, the dialogue of the game, etc.

On the other hand, it really is JUST the original PS1 version. It doesn't support custom resolutions, it doesn't support internal resolution scaling, and you'll be playing with black bars the entire time. There's also a custom CRT shader that Konami coded in, but it only works when the game is in 4:3 for some reason. It really hinders the experience and makes it hard to make a compelling argument to buy this version when you can easily get a PS1 copy of the game on an emulator like Duckstation that supports custom resolutions, internal res scaling, fixes wobbly polygons, etc. If you want to get the definitive experience of MGS1 and only care about the story, then get a PS1 copy and play on Duckstation. You'll have a far superior experience that way.

The positive review really is just so Konami executives can bring up the positive reception in meetings and use it to push forward a Master Collection Vol 2 that hopefully brings MGS4 to PC.

A rough diamond

Star Wars Bounty Hunter was released in the era of movie tie-in games, when games were not really seen as a piece of media that could stand out on their own (very different to how games are perceived today), and so they needed larger pieces of media to use as a crutch to further sales. In this era, a lot of movie tie-ins were junkware, where the story of the game was just a retelling of the story of the movie, and you wouldn't miss out on much if you skipped the game. Because the releases of movie tie-ins needed to be released alongside the movie, it was common to see these games come out with awful gameplay segments, just because the devs didn't have enough time to polish their game.

This is the context in which this game was developed. So it is really satisfying to see that the developers pushed for an original story, and not only that, they tied the story to the lore of the movie. In Star Wars Bounty Hunter we see Count Dooku hire Jango Fett to hunt down a Sith apprentice that has gone rogue, and that serves as a test to see if Jango is the soldier that the Sith are looking for for their cloning process. In a way, this game furthers the plot of Episode II by adding in extra context as to why Jango was chosen to be the one that will be used as a mold to create the clones.

Unlike many movie tie-in games of its era, Star Wars Bounty Hunter goes beyond simply retelling a movie plot. It offers an original storyline that enriches the Star Wars lore and the story of Episode II.

The gameplay is okay, it's a third person action game with platforming segments. In my opinion the platforming is a great addition to the game, because the shooting can be very repetitive. The enemies are not too bullet-spongey, but they take a few good hits to take down, and taking into account how much shooting you will be doing in this game, it's good that they include platforming sections to break up the pace.

During my playthrough, the camera was what gave me the most trouble. I don't know why, but it feels like the camera is "stuck" to certain angles in the 3D view, so when you try to move the camera by a tiny amount like, 9 degrees, it instead "snaps" to the nearest angle that it allows you to move to because moving 9 degrees is not a valid option. I tried messing with the in-game sensitivity, I changed my DPI, but nothing worked. It really feels like it's a bug in the game. Of course this made shooting and the platforming more difficult.

There is also a good amount of jank in this game. Jango's movements lack smoothness and although it's not an issue that will haunt you throughout the entirety of the game, it will creep out it's ugly head every once in a while.

Each chapter takes you to a different place, and that's a nice addition. Level variety here is even better than some modern-day releases. Each chapter has a different theme - one happens in an industrial sector, another one is in a high-rise apartment complex, next it's an asteroid prison, a jungle, a desert on Tatooine, and then a cave complex. The enemies also change from chapter to chapter, which is appreciated.

Weapon variety in this game is also pretty good. There's pistols, machine guns, grenade launchers, turrets, hand grenades, a flamethrower, missiles, snipers and poison darts. They are all pretty fun to use too, especially the flamethrower.

This is a pretty short game, it can be completed in around 7 hours, and I feel like it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a very to-the-point kind of game - no mandatory walking simulator sections, no long cutscenes, no QTEs. It sticks to a straightforward, action-focused experience, which is appreciated.

I also liked how Aspyr gave the game ultrawide support, better lighting and some other quality of life improvements. It's a good port, but again, they should fix the camera. Reading the other reviews, I'm not the only one that had issues with it.

In short, although the game has some issues that are inherent to it, it still stands out as a worthwhile experience due to the unique story, variety and loyalty to the Star Wars universe. Good job, Aspyr and LucasArts.

Dead Space Remake brings back the horrors of exploring deep space in a cosmic horror adventure that involves the unknown and Lovecraftian concepts.

As someone that loves survival horror games, it's so satisfying to get a different game in the survival horror AAA space, a place that has been dominated by Resident Evil for years at this point.

It's an amazing game and I think everybody that likes survival horror should try it. It is done masterfully and keeps faithful to the vision of the original, expanding where it was needed and without adhering to the trend of cutting off parts of the original game like we've seen so many other remakes doing.

A very charming point-and-click adventure. The overall tone of the game is very chill and you can easily complete it in a single sitting. I especially liked the soundtrack, which adds to the atmosphere and gives out a feel-good feeling.

I liked this game a lot and I hope we get to see more from this developer.

I totally recommend getting this game, it's a really nice addition to anyone's library!

As a huge fan of the original to other fans, rest assured, this is a faithful and imaginative reenvision of the 2005 classic. It improves on what needed to be improved for a 2023 AAA release and keeps what needed to be kept.

In my opinion, it is so far the best of all the remakes. I played RE2Make and RE3Make a lot and even platinum'd both, and I can say without a shred of doubt that, if you liked the previous remakes, you are going to love this one too. It is insanely fun and deserves every appraisal it can get.
