At first, I disliked this game to a high degree because of how much it's been shoved down my throat.
Then I tried the free trial, which I ended up disliking in major part due to some people trying to tell me how to play the game instead of letting me figure it out on my own.

Now, fastforward half a year later and I decided to give FFXIV another try on a different server in a different realm. Explored at my own pace, learned at my own pace, gotten through the game at my own pace. And I must say, all of my preconceived opinions of this game melted like snow under the sun when I realized how amazing both the story, gameplay and music of this game really is.

The only regret I have is not playing this game at an earlier time, because I definitely cannot recommend playing this game more than words can say. It is just that fun of an experience!
