Ok Ive finished the game (took me 13 hours, game has a length of 7/8 hours)

My first review was about the stutters and the devs have fixed them (im not sure about the others but yeah they're gone at my end)

Before I start, If you dont want to be disappointed then dont think that this game as Dead Space because it is not Dead Space. (dont buy the remastered DS because it sucks)

Do i recommend TCP to you? No for me.

Positives
Graphics is next gen (Biophages design, death animation, etc. etc.) and the soundtrack (scary) is top notch.

Negatives
The combat is frustratingly criminally bad. The game mostly concentrates on bonking the enemies with a quick time event mechanics to dodge the enemy. It is good, feels heavy and rewarding when you timed it right but if you miss pay with half of your health or be killed in one hit. Not to mention when you get surrounded by a horde of biophages. Sure I can manage to kill a horde of them but damn when that ranged biophage will ruin your timing.

Ranged weapons are useless when used alone. They dont deal damage that much except if you use them in combo after a melee or shooting the tentacles when they show up else you're just wasting ammo even with a fully upgraded ranged weapon one because i dont deal that damage.

What i did was not going tryhard and use the GRP to throw enemies in different environment hazards to one shot the enemies specially when you deal with groups of them. (There are sections ingame where you can one hit them because they are vulnerable in their opening animation?)

I recommend to level only the hand gun for melee combo and shotgun for bosses. Dont bother with the other weapons (maybe ill buy try using them on my newgame+ run).

There are areas that are big but empty which is disappointing wasted your time exploring. What I hate the most is the game artificially tries to lower your HP via QTE biophages (small critters and long neck egg). And the checkpoint sucks so bad, you upgrade your weapon wait for animation to finished go to objective you die and you back to the checkpoint before you upgraded your weapons. Rinse and repeat until you go to another checkpoint.

Horror is nonexistent, since you go toe to toe with the biophages which removes the horror. Sure there are jump scares but hey jump scares is not horror.

Overall its a 4/10 for me. I hope the Devs will do something new for the upcoming DLCs.

or youre a type of player who enjoys playing solitaire then this is for you

great comfy game
hope you can play music ingame though

its like crying so hard because your getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so hard but you kinda like it too because you get items in the end.
