So basically this is a must-have DLC these days. Ask any good player. The estate priviliges are REALLY strong and the many new mission trees already makes it wortwhile if you enjoy playing as those nations. Apparently the DLC release was not very succesful which is why the reviews are mixed, but trust me when I say this DLC will add a lot more content than many other similarly priced DLC's.

BE WARY. THIS GAME IS NOTORIOUSLY ADDICTIVE, HAS A HIGH LEARNING CURVE AND IS FULL OF PREMIUM CONTENT. DO NOT BE FOOLED. It is possible to soften your learning curve at the start by buying an efficient premium vehicle but certain lessons need to be learned at one point or another. I would advice new players NOT to spend a dime on this game until you have AT LEAST 100 hours of gameplay. At that point you will know if this game is for you or not and you can decide whether it is worth spending money on.

Base gameplay is about researching new vehicles and slowly gathering a collection you can be proud of. Premium tanks will deviate you from that goal, because they will only allow you to gather gold faster, drive around with more efficient vehicles while only giving you token amounts or free XP you can use on the tech tree.

This game has something called: "New player mode". After 2-3 days of gameplay you will suddenly find the match-making change. You will start facing experienced tankers who are also often playing higher tier vehicles than you. If you are completely new and reading this, I advise to start use the play mode where you can drive around the maps alone and the game instructs you to pick a certain path. This way you can learn the maps better and knowing your way around maps is VERY important. Otherwise you will be easily exploited by other tankers. Unfortunately as I mentioned the learning curve is high and you will still have very little chance to prevail in your games early on.

One more helpful tip I recommend is picking a tier 4 or 5 tank that your really like (Youtube is great to see tank gameplay) during the first few days when you are still regularly fighting bots and have free premium account. You will likely spend the first 50+ hours on that tank unless you buy more premium or are a good player. Tiers 4&5 are great at learning the game and learning about other tanks strengths and weaknesses.

Hope some of this helped.

I am not a big fan of RTS games. It's not that I'm not good at them, I'm still unofficially the uncrowned king of AoE2 among my friends. Many RTS games IMO lack the strategic depth that I crave for - thus over the years I've found myself playing mostly strategy and grand strategy titles like Hearts of Iron or Civilization. This is the first RTS in a very long time that I've actually enjoyed playing. It just feels that everything is just right and balanced - strategy, RTS elements, historical accuracy (though the last isn't always the case (I'm looking at you BT-42)).

This is why I recommend all and every strategy fan to give SD2 a go - You won't regret it.

Shogun 2 is one of those games. You just never really get tired of it. It is always welcoming and still looks relatively modern despite its age. Whether you want to have fun with your friends or just spend a quiet night playing by yourself, Shogun 2 has got you covered.

Multiplayer has many options: you can play the campaign with your friends, play competetively in Avatar conquest or just play an all-out slugfest with a group of friends and almost unlimited Koku (the currency in this game) at your disposal.

Single player has you either going to medieval ages and clashing your swords against other upstart clans or going to more modern times, fighting the short and much-forgotten Boshin War where imperial armies clashed against the more traditional forces.

Not many games have this much content to offer. An all of it it deep, balanced and well thought out. I mean, there's even an encyclopedia embedded into the game which offers you not only information on how things work, but also gives historical context of why this is in the game. Now how many games do that these days?

One of the most immersive games I've played!
If you like strategy or grand strategy this is a must-buy
Hint: Get "Their Finest Hour" expansion as the vanilla game is quite buggy. Also install Black I.C.E -mod.
