I got this game after seeing it mentioned on a Trope Talks video, and wanted to give it a fair shake. The advantages of beginning in medias res were lost on an endless drivel of dialogue adding little texture to the characters or the setting. The game was slower than molasses on a winter day, spending easily 15-20 text boxes explaining standard fare from any RPG made in the last 2 decades. Similar Value could be wrung from reading a series of Carrds with 6 subpages. This is a case study in "if you have nothing to say, don't say anything at all."

it's fun

it's a very fun and interesting way of combining the dna of turn of turn based strategy like xcom with the real-time simulation of RTS's but reaches a point of droll mechanical sameness not too long into the game. Definitely a worthwhile pickup if the idea piques your interest.

probably one of the better mech games available on the steam store. Novel and could use a lot of qol, which may be fixed in the sequel. Definitely worth the money if you want mechs and you can get it on sale.

One of the worst halo experiences available. It lacks the substance of what makes halo combat satisfying, in a very disappointing manner. The map design and combat flow do not follow the same emphasis on verticality and slow intentional movement. It feels like a shiny amatuer quake project in unreal, not a sequel to a series with well defined gameplay.
