Early Access Review
Has a lot of great depth and replayability, easy to learn hard to master sort of thing. Played the demo after coming across some earlier reviewers on youtube. Lots of fun so far and got an itch for more.

Multiplayer is buggy. half the time you can never matchmake with your friends. Had some weird lighting glitches that caused a strobe effect which is no bueno. Overall not worth the sales price I paid for the frustration we have to deal with before getting to play. IF it works, you'll have fun playing with friends. I played story mode on the xbox - gameplay was decent.

Was entertaining for the small amount of content that is here. Could use a lot of English translation work, and for the price of 2.99 I expected more content, I went through the entire 10 level campaign in around 50 minutes, for this price I expect a few hours not one hour tops. Controls could use some work, but it was still engaging and entertaining for the short amount I did get to play

I usually don't make a review to counteract another review, but I saw some points presented that I just don't agree with so here I am. First off, I have owned this game for a long time, but until the rona had never really played it because my pc was waaay too old, I was a console gamer forgive me. Anyway after M&B encouraged me to upgrade I began looking at my library and found this curiosity again. I started with the default play-through, well one of, out in the hub. This being a survival game I thought run out into the wild, build a shelter, grow my own food, screw those prices in the hub! So I left the shadows of the walls, and thoroughly got my ass beat by the first group of hungry bandits who stumbled upon me. I had forgotten an important component of Kenshi, you are nothing and no one, it is your story to tell and shape. If you've played Kingdom Come I can easily compare it to that, but at least Kenshi starts you out with the ability to read. You won't be powerful, or fast, you'll likely be alone, and outnumbered, and like me you'll be running around not even realizing how clueless you are until it punches you in the face. I struggled that entire play-through but it was very valuable knowledge I gained those first hundred hours. Beyond just the mechanics of the game, I discovered that Kenshi in a gem, for both the things it does, and doesnt do. It's not going to hold your hand, it's going to require you to pay attention to the world and approach every encounter as a chance to gain experience. This is a game about survival as nature intended, your characters will grow with their experiences, the world will be shaped by your actions, and slowly you will transition from surviving to thriving, from thriving to shaping, what the shape of Kenshi is after you're done will be for you to decide.

The best advice I can give you is don't think you're going to go out and thrive within a few hours if you just run right out and start your base.Unless you approach it like me as a learning expereince for your second 'real' play-through. Getting my feet wet (100 hours minimum on that first run, 100+ days all tech researched, etcetera) helped me figure out what I could actually do and how.
