I don't know how I missed your months-old comment, but yeah Drifter was surprisingly awesome. Imagine EvE, but sort of 2D/3D ish, and ran with bots instead of real players. You still get the whole - ships and how everything works stuff, even the thousands of systems to visit. The best part about the game imo are the way he set up the graphics to really pull the 2D and 3D together, and his choice of music. It's been awhile since I've last played, but I discovered you can mod almost anything you want to about it. I think there was word of the dev working on a multiplayer mode, not sure tbh, but I wouldn't be surprised.
