Somehow running on the Source engine. Still haven't wrapped my head around that one.

Titanfall 2 is the best game I've played this year. Well worth the money, especially when it's on sale.

I see many reviews here bashing EAs version of Battlefront, but I feel it necessary to highlight many problems with this game:

Poor AI. (Forgivable, as the game came out over a decade ago)
Terrbile flight controls.

Inconsistencies with the movies.

Bad hero design.

Bad graphics, if you haven't played this game in a while you might remember it looking better (I did) but the graphics have not held up very well. (Again, forgivable given the game's age)

Can be very problematic on certain hardware setups.

Lack of multiplayer servers without installing a third party program.


And now for the good points:
Nostalgia. Probably the reason most people buy this game. If you had fun playing this game as a child you will probably find some enjoyment in it today.

Multiple Eras. This game spans both The Clone Wars and The Galactic Civil war and features many vehicles and characters from both.

Decent campaign. Overall the campaign is alright, but nothing to write home about. It gives insight into the thoughts of the clone troopers you see in episodes 2 and 3 and shows the Republic's transformation into the Empire from their point of view. The gameplay during campaign missions is fairly simple. It's either: Fight to and objective, capture it, become hero, finish, or fight to objective, destroy it, become hero, finish. It's alright but can become repetitive and boring at times.


Many Maps. Practically every iconic location from the Star Wars movies is represented in Battlefront 2. The maps aren't particularly well designed, but the do a decent job of portraying the areas and usualy feature an easter egg or two.


I would recommend this game if you are a massive Star Wars fan or someone looking for a nostalgia kick, but compared to many modern shooters, and even some shooters from the time, it doesn't hold up. I may hold an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the newer Battlefront to this one in nearly all aspects besides content. Overall I would give Battlefront 2 a 6/10.
