Rough around the edges but the physics feel crisp, so the potential is there

This is a fun game, well balanced, fast paced gameplay, requires fair bit of mechanical skill and when do good it feels amazing, I don't like the art style they went with in this one but whatever, over all I love the game.

Why is the review negative then, you might ask?

Because the execution is absolutely terrible, the netcode is trash(you don't have dedicated servers most of the time, p2p shouldn't be a thing on a tittle like this), there is no form of anti cheat whatsoever so there are plenty of cheaters, the performance is okay this year but the game is capped at 91 fps, which is a massive ♥♥♥♥ you to everyone with a high refresh rate monitor. There are also micro transactions in a game that costs 60 bucks minimum, which is also pretty annoying although not really game breaking. The PC population is also really low due to multiple years of getting unfinished products.

As much as I love this franchise for their gameplay I don't really recommend getting these games anymore unless you really want them.

Keep in mind that this a review of just the multiplayer.

As much as I like this game gameplay wise I can't recommend it, I don't really have performance issues(running maxed out on a gtx 970, only dip when there are tons of explosions, I'd say performance is reasonable), but I had plenty of crashes and bugs with the bindings(certain keys will still keep doing certain actions after I rebound them and some keys wont get rebound, weird but really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying bug)

The game design is amazing, the graphics are really good and most of the gamemodes are fun, although they are only explained by 2 lines each so I had straight up no idea what to do one several maps, but we won so it's fine

My main problem with the game is the movement, it's sluggish, it just doesn't feel right. I guess they tried to mimic cod's general movement, which is not a bad place to start, but the problem is that sprinting gets cancelled once you hit one of strafe keys, which makes navigating the map pretty weird if you are used to other games already. Jumping also feels super delayed and slow

My other concern is the playerbase and networking, the latency in multiplayer is just huge, nobody is skipping around or anything like that, there is just a huge delay, like a second or so at least. There also aren't many people online, and this is after the game dropped on humble bundle, prolly gonna die soon.

Imo it's worth the humble bundle purchase but not the steam price in it's current form and with this playerbase

The good:
Stunning visuals
Strong soundtrack
Smooth, challenging but still relaxing gameplay.

The bad:
Little hard to get into, tutorials could explain couple more things
Bit short
Controller is necessary

The game can be split into two parts, free roam and the events.

In free roam you can explore open areas and you can complete challenges here(drift in a selected area, jump this gap etc), this part is apealing for newer players and you can get the hang of the game here, it is extremely fun to complete these challenges but it is a bit short, you can complete everything in 1.5-2 hours.

The events are available from the menu or you can acces them from free roam, there are lap based racetracks, linear tracks and semi-open drift tracks, the goal is the same on all of them, drift, do combos and get high scores. This is aimed towards the hardcore crowd, as it takes some time to get good in this game and place well on the global leaderboards.

Really good game for those 2 weeks/year when it is actually playable, and the rest of the year you can open cases to get negevs.

10/10 would burn money on skins again

Game is terrible, servers are bad, hitbox ♥♥♥♥♥♥, movement slugish, full of hackers(you can hack it with cheat engine for infinite ammo come on guys wtf), visuals are just weird

Somehow it's till fun to play.
