At first, you'll think it's pokemon.
Then you'll realize it's digimon.
Then you'll realize it has a full identity of its own, with brilliantly written characters and interesting, in-depth mechanics that are simple to understand but add a level of depth not often seen in Monster collector style RPGs.

This game is a work of art that can both make you think and make you feel. 5/5.

Excellent western game with complex & interesting characters. If you like games where your decisions matter-- there are very few that can rival Weird West in that regard. It's shorter (took 21 hours to finish), but at the same time I didn't exactly 100% it (some sidequests got skipped because I simply didn't know how to finish them lol)

The world is fascinating, and highly reactive. Everything you do can have huge impacts on lives. The best, non-spoilery example I can give is that if you kill a man, his wife might remarry, and the wive's last name will actually update to her new husband's. The only other game I can think of that rivals that level of detail & reactivity is a heavily modded run of skyrim or Balder's Gate 3.

As for actual gameplay: You play as 5 different characters throughout sections of their lives. Each has different powers, but you can share inventory between them so there's a sense of progression that isn't bound to "this character is X level". Highly rewards stealth & thinking. Don't have lockpicks to get past a gate? see if there's some boxes you can stack nearby to jump the wall. But good news is: it doesn't REQUIRE stealth. If you get spotted, you can dig in and have a fire fight worthy of the western genre.

I plan on playing this again soon to make some choices I didn't make in the first (my "outlaw" run) and see how different the game is-- which is not something I usually do.

Overall: Top 5 game for me.

A charming adaptation of Pf2e's core rules, this game is great for people who want to try out new builds & overall party compositions. While not all pf2e content is available, it does a great job of staying true to the game with what it does bring to the table, and the community has done a lot to bring the more popular options to the game via mods.

Highly recommend if you're looking for a pf2e game: It helped me learn the system!

To update my review, bought the DLC. Love it. The introduction of skill, riddle, and RP encounters wasn't needed but well implemented and compliments the overall game very well. Plus the encounters introduced now really introduce reasons to involve different movement types (flying, swimming, avoiding hazards, etc)

This community is so cooperative that we coordinated a review bomb when Sony was going to force PSN accounts on everyone (effectively banning people in certain regions).

Then, we coordinated a review-pump to restore our game to its proper overwhelmingly popular status.

Simple albeit fun tactical gameplay with meaningful choices, though maybe not the most engaging story.

A lovely game that feels like it was made by someone who truly loves Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and similar games. Surprisingly full of content, and there's something for everyone. Like mining? You can go DEEP mining. Like farming? Theres animals to raise and crops to plant. Like Fishing, hunting, crafting, or just running errands for neighbors? All that too!

Its been super fun playing with my wife.

One of the greatest games of all time.

Don't believe the hype about difficulty. I'm ♥♥♥♥ at games. If a boss is too hard, you can grind a bit to make it easier, change your play style, grab buffs, or even coop with a friend to make it easier.

A fun game for those who like a combination of resource management, base building, and tower defense, very similar to Minedustry in that regard.

I will say the difficulty might not be approachable to everyone-- I'm very good at Minedustry, but this game occasionally threw enough at me that I couldn't fathom how I was supposed to have a chance at winning. Good news is that the waves spawn randomly, so if this happens, just reload and odds are, you'll get an easier one. Still, you shouldn't have to rely on reloading to win.

This game has horrible controls, bad AI, and surprisingly slow and repetitive combat.

Seriously-- the keyboard controls have you hitting WASD for movement, tab for block, C for dash, caps lock for sprint, 1-4 for item use, Q for special ability, and then HOLDING E for your other special ability.

How many fingers do they think I have?
