The game is beautiful but the gameplay is just not geared towards play on the PC. I had fun with the game but the controls, which center on tapping on the spacebar, are much better translated to those of a tablet or mobile device. I own it on both PC and Android and I highly recommend picking it up on a mobile platform instead.

This game is incredibly misunderstood. It is perfect at what it tries to be, an abstract visual experience. The gameplay is fun, but the graphics along with the sound/music is what makes this game an absolutely surreal experience.

This game is 10 times better if you pretend you are in the movie Speed

I was a big fan of the original Avalanche flash game many many years ago, but as time went on and flash games went out of style, I forgot about the game entirely. Then when browsing steam, I all of a sudden came across its sequel, not knowing anything about it, and decided to try it on a whim.

This game is the definition of a perfect sequel. The core gameplay from the original game which made it fun is still the focal point, just improved, and every gripe I had with the first game has been fixed. The gameplay, which consists of going as high as possible, is addictive with missions and items keeping it fresh and interesting, even after the amount of time I've already spent on the game. You can tell there was a large focus on making the gameplay feel smooth. The controls feel very similar to the way super meatboy feels, which is to say good. The graphics and music compliment the game quite well, both being very well made and a pleasure to see/hear, and overall the presentation is great, with intuitive menus and nothing to bog you down between games.

Some people may argue on the price point, which is a fair point to argue given the amount of breathtaking games on steam available for the same price, but as the guy's first game on steam I could see where he is coming from. I really enjoy it, so if you don't mind the price, or the game is on sale, I'd definitely recommend trying it out.

The vast majority of my time spent on this game was off steam, hence my low play time.

This is one of the best simulation games I have played in recent memory. As the game suggests, you go from a lone video game developer trying to make it in the dawn of video games and progress as video games become more and more popular throughout the world. Not only is it a fond look back on video gaming history, but knowing video game history is advantageous given how accurate the game is to the real timeline. The game is very accessible and consequences are directly influenced by a player's own intuition, that is, if you have a relatively good taste in video games. You feel like you are in control of your own success. Despite reaching the end game multiple times, there is replay value with the countless ways you can experiment to try to become successful. The developers also packed many easter eggs into the game, which many took a few runs of the game to find. Mods are also abundant for this game, further increasing the play time.

Given the amount of hours I've spent on the game so far (40+) without feeling bored, I would definitely say this game is a great value.
