GTA five is an excellent game, not the best but still rather good.
The story is engaging and lasts for quite some time.
However that isnt why this is a negative review, it is a negative review because of the god awful multiplayer.
Sure it is great fun to just muck about with your mates for a few hours but if you want to do anything that you see in the trailers (The DeLorean, Import Export cars, ect.) you'll need money, thats expected but with the introcuction of "Shark Cards" a few months if not a year or two back everything is alot more expensive so unless you are willing to grind for hours on end (I've personally done nearly 40 hours of grinding) the only option is to buy ingame money with real money, this is something normally seen in free-to-play mobile games where it is understandable because the game was free.
This is a full price game that is almost 5 years old, ill say that again. This game was released in 2013 and still costs $60.
(This is the second time ive bought the game it bought it on the 360 when it came out but my xbox acc broke so no multiplayer)
This brings me neatly onto the state of GTA Online servers, you cannot connect to the online 3/4 of the time, for example today I tried for 2 hours to connect to GTA online all to no avail, it takes 6 minutes when it does work and when it doesn't with no retry connection option at the end.
The DRM (Social Club) is AIDS you have to sign in twice (once when you start the game and again when you are loading the game. This is why Piracy is still a thing, not for the cost but to avoid the often broken DRM. Sure its illegal but the odds of you getting caught are far outweighed by the convenience of not having the stupid broken as all hell DRM.
If you want to play a multiplayer GTA game try GTASAMP its a mod for the best GTA game that adds in multiplayer that is free to play with more than one server and hundreds of different gamemodes. Most importantly it is fairly priced as in the cost of things matches income unlike GTA Online.
I rest my case.

The Satisfaction of hearing that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ little inline-4 turn over for the first time almost brought a tear to my eye and sitting here typing out this review is bringing that feeling back, but knowing you put each bit in the right spot, tightened down all of the bolts and this the result...

I bought this game and it downloaded relatively fast with a small download size and i said "huh, might be a nice hour or two worth of gameplay here".
How wrong I was, 17 Days later I emerged into the sunlight yelling "WHAT YEAR IS IT?!"

Edit: Its now 5(ish) years on, i put this game down for a very long time, recently i have been stuck at home due to [WORLD PANDEMIC] so I, having not a single thing else to do picked this game up again. It very quickly consumed all my waking hours and my sleeping schedule went straight out the window, I've been playing for many hours in one sitting (we're talking 15-19 hours in one go, 70 hours in a week) and even for the few hours a day I'm not playing I keep thinking about how to make the production of red circuits more efficient, I had heard the phrase "The factory must grow" thrown around a little but I had no idea how much weight it carries with it, this game becomes addicting in a way that only the strongest most refined crack cocaine can even come close to replicating. If you had any sort of social life before buying this game, if you're chosen to fall into the void you are going to forget about it, by the time you've realised that this game has grabbed you by the balls its already too late, the factory owns you now.
Anyway I still WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend you buy this game, I describe it to people as being like a drug addiction because when you first see it you'll think "I don't know, it just doesn't seem like my sort of game" but once you play it and it plants its seed in your brain you'll be hooked.
I still rate 11/10 and recommend you look into "Long Range Eviction Notices" for when your neighbours start to get a little too close
