Cute and short puzzle-platforming game that is exactly what it says on the tin. A casual completion should only take a couple hours, though the final sequence is a little jank with object collision and camera angles. Excellent ambiance and music.

I really enjoyed the mechanics of Helldivers 2 despite not having known the first one. A friend bought it for me and we had a great time killing bugs and getting killed by robots together. I'm doing my part!

I'm no veteran of soulslike games, but even with that said, this ain't it. You're disincentivised to fight common enemies, they don't provide so much as a barrier if you're not unlucky. There's only a dodge button, not a block, and your only tool for movement in the "platforming" is the janky dodge. The larger unnamed enemy in the later half is stationed in too-small hallways and your tools just aren't fit to handle one, let alone two at a time. In the final stretch, you're asked to do some basic "jumps" but the lighting and textures make it so you need to guess where the floor ends and where open air begins. Which you can learn, it's not punishing, but darkness should not be a tool to annoy the player in the most basic aspect of traversing the map. The last boss has the most atrocious design I've seen, it being able to spin around in the middle of a jump attack to hit you after you dodge. There's no point at which it's vulnerable, you can get two weak hits in and then you need to run. The hit boxes on its slam attack are ludicrously unfair, hitting you with a wide box around the entire weapon, right next to him, not even close to the impact point at the end. And it also spins to follow you while you dodge. If this game wasn't free, I would ask for a refund. If only I could get my time back.

A short, sweet soulslike game that is beginner friendly. If a little jank feeling with some of the controls. I hope it can become a full-fledged game, I'd be interested in seeing where this could go.

Of all the things I can say of this game, they are all positive. While the experience of a 100% run might be rather swift, it is an incredible ride through it. There is replay value to unlocking all the extras and secrets, and the achievements are quite a challenge.

While there are instructions, there is no incessant handholding, it leaves you to learn and grow at your own pace. Along a singular goal, there are multiple ways to reach your path. In fact, you are encouraged to revisit older areas as you progress to new hats (abilities) to collect more.

The graphics are amazing/adorable, not a flaw among them. And the music...I could go hours just listening to it. As far as story, it lampshades the 'silent progatonist' trope and introduces highly memorable characters. Without spoilers, I can assure you that the ending scene will tug at your emotions. And then give a giggle as the credits roll.

Overall, I give it a 6 out of 5 stars. Yes, that good.
