I refunded this before agreeing to the forced arbitration clause in the EULA

i had to agree to Disney's forced arbitration agreement to play a game from 2003, only to find out it aged worse than i thought it did.

worth playing for anyone who likes idle games. doesn't waste your time, the numbers still go up while you're offline, at least after an early upgrade. has a nice little story, and despite its minimalistic visuals and sounds, manages to produce a treat for the senses.

got this on pre-order and its still my main controller for pc gaming. hope they bring it back.

got this on sale for $3.99. if you're the type of gamer to get caught up in that lazy ubisoft-style open world gameplay loop of "complete a small variety of objectives to turn sections of the map blue," like i am, then you really can't go wrong at that price point, especially considering you wont have to install a third party launcher, like u-play.

Additionally, Timesplitters 2 has been ported and hidden in this game. so that's pretty cool.

Edit: i'm really getting tired of the KPA units howling like nazi zombies without the voice changing filter. it's like 1 of 4 voicelines on the most common enemy types and its driving me insane.

the long and short of it is, all the mechanics from boneworks are here and tightened up quite nicely, but the story falls short. the game sets you up like you're about to embark on some kind of quest, but then ends immediately after, i totally didnt see it coming until the credits were rolling. i was holding out for another mind blowing ending, like boneworks had, but it just didnt pan out.
im glad that my favorite VR arena brawler got a facelift and some other game modes to mess around in but this isnt the linear narrative i was hoping for...

vtubers now have an environment in which they can emulate primitive technology youtubers.

originally i started using this to add a little more physical activity to some VR games, but after some extended usage i think i prefer "armswinger" locomotion over any other locomotion, it allows for such fine control of player movement that i would compare it to aiming in fps's with a mouse instead of a thumbstick. i've even been using it to play the original doom games and some mods on gzdoomVR (learning to circle strafe with one hand and shoot with the other while moving at 60 mph is an incredible experience)

h3vr has it built in and that frees up the thumbstick to be used for finer weapon handling, i imagine some steamvr binding power-users could find some similar uses with natloco...

this is truly someone's passion project and it shows all the love that was put into it, if you're out here still playing goldsource mods on the reg, i'd say this is a must-play.

if you really enjoyed the PC experience, you may find that the VR version is just far too clunky and unoptimized to enjoy it as much as the original...
