Its got a lot of incredible moments on the way but I don't think it sticks the landing.

There's a lot of window-dressing here but what this game is really about is the white-knuckle tension of a bullet-hell bossfight set to some amazing electro-metal. Everything around that core experience is pretty high-quality, but its those bosses where the aesthetics and systems really come together into something really amazing.

So its nice that they added a boss rush mode... in a post-release patch.

You can make explosions that don't fit on the screen or even inside your GPURAM

Theres no reason to buy this version UNLESS
- You just want to mess around in singleplayer w the combo trials, unlimited characters or the VN style story mode
- Nostalgia
- You are under the misconception that this story mode will make later games make more sense
