A beautiful game. Very relaxing and surprisingly in depth.

This game is absolutely gorgeous. I had a wonderful time meandering through the chapters and exploring every nook and cranny. The dynamic lighting and effects made the stages jaw dropping and the fact you don't have a health bar or HUD to clog your screen made it that much more beautiful. It also maintains its beauty even on the lower settings.

The music was engaging and really turned the tension up at the right times. I didn't find any of the sound effects distracting and I didn't feel the need to put my own music on in the background because I was bored. Would 100% recommend playing with a headset to experience the OST.

The story is much more fleshed out that I expected going into it, although it is pretty predictable. No huge twists and turns. But if you are looking for a chill experience, this definitely has enough going on to keep you hooked. I wish there was more explanation that tied you (the cat) into the story though. Some points just felt like you were just going through the motions with no real motivation other than that was the story path laid out for you.

As for gameplay, the puzzles were not difficult to figure out but they were unique enough that it wasn't so easy it was boring. Each new challenge felt smooth and in tune with how a cat would react to the situation at hand. I do wish it gave you a bit more freedom to climb and such in certain areas. I really wanted to play Catsassins Creed : Cyberpunk Edition, but was limited when the story wanted me to progress.

In my opinion, it would also benefit from more collectibles. I had the most fun when I was exploring each area looking at any rug to scratch or pool cue to bat around the table. This is where the atmosphere really shined. The collectibles that were in the game were engaging enough for me want to keep hunting them. Plus there was a ton of items to interact with so it would have been easy to add more things to hunt down.

Overall I would definitely say it was worth the money although I don't really have a huge drive to play it over and over. Once through was enough. I might do another play-through to snag any odds and ends that were missed the first time for the steam achievements, but that will be the only replay I do.

Score: 8.5 out of 10
