Arguments Against Christianity Debunked
"Religion Causes Wars" - Exaggerated claim as 7% of recorded wars were because of Religion, if Islamic conflicts are removed, it drops to 3%

"A lot of Evil has been done in the name of Religion" - A true statement that isn't proof that Religion is false

"There is no scientific proof for God's existance" - This is a misunderstanding of both science AND God, as Science (by definition) studies the natural world VIA tests, measuring of obvservations, God exists beyond the natural world. This argument is fallacious as Science cannot prove concepts like Love, Rights and Morality.

"The Bible has contradictions" - For 2000 years, Scholars and Theologians have explained that the contradictions are clarified by context and differences in perspective, or issues relating to translation. Example: The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) highlight different details of the same events, like multiple eyewitnesses would. Variations =/= contradiction, and in fact strengthens the reliability.

"Jesus didn't claim to be God" - He didn't walk around saying 'Serve me because I am God', but his actions and teachings revealed his divine identity, the gospels record things he did that only God could do, like Forgive Sins, Calm Storms, and Recieve Worship. After his ressurection, his Diciples openly confessed him as God, Jesus affirmed their faith. The letters of Paul also Affirm his Godhood.

"Slavery in the Bible is proof that scripture condones oppression" - The existance of slavery in the Bible is not the same as approval of it, and the Old Testament addresses slavery within the context of the ancient world, and often regulates and restricts practices, Jesus explained that some old testament laws were accommodations to human hardness of heart. In fact, it was mainly Christians who led the abolitionist movement in the US and Europe.

"If God created everything, who created God?" - By definition, God is the 'Uncaused Cause', the universe has a beginning, but the chain of causes cannot stretch backward into infinity

"Science disproves God" - Historically false, the church was central in the development of modern science. Many founders of the scientific revolution (Galileo, Kepler, Newton for example) were devout believers in God. Science arose from the conviction that God's creation is rational

"If God is good, then why doesn't he destroy Evil" - He eventully will, but if he did it immedietely, he would have to remove all sinners. God delays judgement out of mercy

"God is Evil" - This falls flat as Evil is not an indipendent substance, but the absence of good. For good to be objective, it must have a source greater than human opinion. If God doesn't exist, objective good wouldn't exist.

"Can God make a rock heavier than he can lift" - This is a logical trick rather than a real objection, being all powerful does not mean he can act against his own nature, for example: God cannot lie, cease to exist, or create another God. Omnipitence implies Power over Creation, not self contradictory actions. This question is meaningless and presents an impossible situation, not a limit on divine power

"Why did God allow the existance of evil at all" - A greater good comes through God's victory over Evil, triumphance over Sin, Satan and Death brings greater glory than if Evil never existed, Evil is a backdrop for God's power, mercy and justice.

"Religion is Wishful Thinking" - If this was true, you'd expect religious texts to focus on comfort and positivity, whereas the bible emphasises human sin, brokenness and repentence. The difficulty of its message points away from it being mere wishful invention

"Evolution proves God did not create the world" - This statement assumes that Evolution and Creation are mutually exclusive. throughout church history, many christian thinkers have allowed for natural processes as part of God's creative work. The christian position is not restricted to one view on how life developed, but affirms that God is the source and sustainer of all creation.
