I started playing this amazing game in 2008. I've had countless sessions of religiously playing it all day and all night, with friends and without, I've even made a series of YouTube videos and Twitch streams exclusively on it. All I can say is that the game has become miserably unplayable and in just a depressing state for years, to the point where I haven't played it at all since 2021.

A ridiculous amount of fun for a free game. Admittedly, I found it pretty difficult at first. As a Minecraft and Terraria player, I'm used to keeping myself alive as not being dire or critical to keep on playing. This game forces you to constantly be out moving and looking for supplies to survive. Once you have enough supplies, equips and weapons, then you're pretty much set and you don't have to worry much anymore. But that first initial burst of necessity as you wash up on shore with nothing (not even clothes) amongst a constant plague of zombies is a lot of fun.

I personally enjoy the scavenging and collecting items. On servers, you can either make friends or make enemies. PvE servers are typically more relaxed and let you hang out with other players. PvP servers tend to be more chaotic and become a mad dash to grab enough weapons and supplies to keep yourself alive from other players.

All in all, it's an insane amount of content for a game that's free and is constantly being updated to add more content and refine previous content. I was so convinced with the amount of enjoyment I was having with the game that I purchased a Gold account within 3 hours of playing the game. If you're on the fence - don't be. Just give it a shot.
