I think there is a fun and quirky story, but I don't care to find out because the gameplay is repetitive and boring.
It's clunky to control, with a lot of features that actively make it flow poorly.

There are 3 resources, and you receive them all at a fixed rate that you cannot improve. This means that there's no feeling of developing your city, since all you do is wait around for more bones and magic stuff to be mined. There are chests on each map, which contain caches of resources, but at a certain point, all the chests contain the same 5 swords, 3 claws, and some stone.

After a while, stone is only used for building houses and generators for said houses, and you have way more than you need. Bones and magic both go into creating their respective army units, as well as intermediary products for said units. In order to make the units efficiently, you have to micromanage (turn off) the production of intermediary products.

The traps seem cool, but they don't do much and they stop working when attackers take out the obelisk that powers them. The obelisks get destroyed in 1 hit.

If traps, towers and attacking units used different resources, that would encourage you to make all three and find ways to make use of them. As it is, they are all (heavily) gated by the few resources you get, so the only viable tactic is to make attacking units.

And then you do the same thing, level after level.
