I played the original when it came out. What they did with Eddie Dombrowski and Angela Orosco was incredible.

This entire game is incredible.

I was pleasantly surprised at how engaging and stimulating the story was after reading all the reviews.

I think this game is loyal to the first and the series, but the lower reviews are due to a new generation of gamers.

This game is a lot of fun, and Max is still Max, just older and wiser.

I really liked this game. :)

Perfect balance between graphic visuals and literate textuals.

I really enjoy the ambience that this game offers. However, as calming and ambient as it is, you will find yourself in a wooden pickle if you let your guard down and travel around unprepared. Make sure you stock up on ammo and remember to arm your truckers with basic ranged weapons and melee weapons at the start.

The game has a creative combat system, so make use of melee/ranged on each trucker, not just one or the other. Once the enemy gets close, start walloping on them with your crowbars and bats.

You can choose your truck at the start, so remember to click the arrows in the character creation screen to flip between the few truck options (speed, comfort, longevity in mind).

I hope my positive opinion and quick tips are enough to get your interest and help you get started.

My girlfriend and I waited a long time for this game. We have both started to ignore "critical" opinions of the masses, as it now seems like people have to review bomb everything/find a reason to be outraged by even the smallest most trivial details.

That being said... here's our experience.

As soon as this game went live, we loaded it up, and I had that mystical feeling I haven't felt since Fallout 3, when you step out on to the wasteland and your eyes have to adjust to the harsh outdoor lighting.

Even the small things struck me in the beginning. Things as small as your robot companion calling you by your name with text to voice speech, which was kind of awesome. My character's name is Taffey Lewis, and the companion greeted me as "Captain Lewis".

The game has a very familiar feeling, but it is very refined compared to Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Skills are now a little more balanced in the sense that you can't really cheese them as easily to level up. You need to unlock them by completing challenge objectives which automatically initiate the moment you put a skill point in to the level 1 version of the trait. I.E. for a sneaking ability at level 1, you need to shoot 5 enemies or so with a silenced weapon while undetected or something like that. Then at level 2 there's a higher requirement and so on.

You can now unlock hidden abilities from side quest lines. Keep that in mind, and don't just rush the main story. Cherish this experience like a fine wine. Crank the difficulty up to hard or very hard.

Difficulty settings are VERY well tuned. If you set the game to "Very Hard", that is the experience that you get. It isn't like in other games where "very hard" is just "impossible". It's just that, a very hard experience but very achievable if you play smart and plan out your skill trees.

I am not sure what the reviews of this game will balance out as over the next week, as cancel culture is full tilt and people love to hate great things so that they can feel insightful and unique, but *you* need to play this game for yourself. The feeling of finding your own first B class ship, having a large cargo bay and being less tethered to a storage chest in some random corner of the world is an awesome and freeing feeling. Just when you feel like you have exhausted one aspect of the game, you realise that is only one very small part of the Starfield universe, and there are many other rewarding ways to play the game and experience the world. If you feel a little burned out just exploring planets and killing the fauna, then try your hand and space exploration and equip your ship with some half way decent cannons and crew and jump from system to system, planet to planet and see what happens. Pirates will attack you, other quest lines will open up and maybe even bounty hunters will chase you down.

Great game, a fun alternative to Dead by Daylight.

Needs some minor polishing, but it's still pretty solid and easy to get in to a match as survivor or killer.

I think the main thing I like about this is the fact that there are 3 killers and not just 1, so you can kill with friends.

I have to say the game has improved a lot since 2013 early access.

I know they had an office break in almost a decade ago, but still this is abysmally slow development.

Anyway, I recommend and support this game.

Amnesia never disappoints me. I don't remember if it ever has, at least.

Few ARPG games keep my attention these days. The last great ARPG game I got hooked on was Torchlight (1/2), and Grim Dawn. The classics will always be fun (Diablo 1/2) etc.

Last Epoch feels great, and is very deep as far as items and customisation go. It isn't as simple as some people make it out to be, but it's way more intuitive than PoE is. Things make way more sense, but I still recommend watching tutorial videos that explain damage types and the difference between added flat damage and damage % modifiers and how to properly use all of that together in an efficient way.

I find the story to be moderately enticing... but it's not on par with say Diablo 4 level storytelling. Regardless, you will enjoy it if you pay attention and don't just click through it all.

As a final note, I will mention that my favorite part of Last Epoch is the crafting. At a glance it looks mildly difficult, but after you tinker around with it (about 2-3 hours of gameplay and you will have some decent crafting shards in your inventory to experiment with) you will get the hang of it fairly quickly.
