Excellent game.

Loved this one.
5 and 6 do wonders for Kiryu as a character, and this was the first game that managed to make me care about Haruka.
Gets a bit messy with all of the factions & sub-factions, but it sticks the landing in the end.

Loaded to the gills with unique locations and minigames.
The series really hits its stride here.
Shinada & Takasugi were fantastic.

Super high quality puzzle game.

Lovely little game.

Tight, kinetic deckbuilder.

Frustrating gameplay that felt like a complete slog from start to finish.
Posed some interesting new systems & ideas, but the new enemies are extremely annoying to fight when combined with the gruelling wave mechanics.
The secondary party felt like it barely ever got new items, and a third of the items are locked behind kickstarter backer rewards or paid DLC.
Story-wise, Rugga felt completely mishandled, and it didn't feel as though the game respected the choices I made from the previous game.
The horseborn never felt properly integrated into the story, and certain characters (Hakon & Oddleif in particular) felt like they had jarring personality shifts.
I hated it!

Improves on pretty much everything from the first game.
Feels very meaty with all the war system tripe trimmed off, and gives the side characters more time to shine.
The ending felt lackluster compared to the first game's, and the game was a bit tight with renown & kills, but otherwise a perfect sequel.

What's there is good, but it left me wanting more.
Too short.

A labour of love only let down by some hammy, on the nose writing.
Despite that, the gameplay really is excellent and the game is a ton of fun to play.
Would love to see a sequel that takes itself more seriously with a bit more nuance.
